Disk Frequencies and Lifetimes in Young Clusters [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
We report the results of the first sensitive L-band survey of the intermediate-age (2.5-30 Myr) clusters NGC 2264, NGC 2362, and NGC 1960. We use JHKL colors to obtain a census of the circumstellar disk fractions in each cluster.

Residual tail twisting in ascidian larvae is stabilized by asymmetric myofibrils that resist bilateral symmetry restoration

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Ascidian Ciona larvae initially show strong clockwise tail twisting, which is largely corrected during development. However, a small residual twist remains. This study shows that organized helical myofibrils in tail muscles mechanically stabilize this residual asymmetry, preventing complete restoration of bilateral symmetry and revealing how embryos ...

Cluster–cluster aggregation with mobile impurities [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Sol-Gel Science and Technology, 2019
We considered the diffusion-limited cluster–cluster aggregation (DLCA) model in the presence of inert template (mobile impurities) for the simulation of mesoporous materials obtained through sol–gel processes. A computer algorithm based on the off-lattice version of the two-dimensional DLCA model with moving impurities is introduced.

A silent cry for leadership : organizing for leading (in) clusters [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Leadership research so far has neglected clusters as a particular context for leadership, while research on networks and clusters has hardly studied leadership issues.

The human gut microbiome across the life course

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Despite significant individual variation and continuous change throughout life, the human gut microbiome follows some life stage‐specific trends. This article provides a brief overview of how gut microbiome composition shifts across different phases of life. Created in BioRender. Özkurt, E. (2026) https://BioRender.com/8q4nrnc.

Rab14 regulates the transport of human papillomavirus to the trans‐Golgi network for infectious cell entry

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals that the small GTPase Rab14 is necessary for human papillomavirus (HPV) infection and plays an essential role in the transport of virions to the trans‐Golgi network (TGN). HPV in the early endosome (EE), which harbors GTP‐bound Rab14, is transported to the TGN through the switch of Rab14 from its GTP‐bound to GDP‐bound form.

IT Clusters as a Special Type of Industrial Clusters [PDF]

open access: yes
Economic and industrial clusters have become in the last years the object of a new economic theory that has proved important for regional and even national (Porter, 1990) development.

Candidates (proto-)clusters in the near-infrared wide field SHARKS survey: preparing the path to Euclid [PDF]

open access: yes, 2022
openI have constructed a catalog of galaxy clusters and proto-clusters using data from the Southern H-ATLAS Regions Ks-band Survey (SHARKS). This is an ESO public survey in Ks photometric band, covering almost the entire GAlaxy Mass Assembly (GAMA ...

Modulation of Homer1 EVH1 domain internal dynamics by putative autism‐associated mutations

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The putative autism‐associated M65I and S97L variants of the EVH1 domain of the postsynaptic scaffold protein Homer1 do not exhibit substantial changes in their overall structure or partner binding. Both of them, but especially the M65I variant, show altered internal dynamics relative to the wild‐type domain on the μs‐ms timescale, indicated by the ...

Clusters: Determinants and Effects [PDF]

open access: yes
This memorandum surveys the empirical literature about the effects and determinants of clusters. It finds that clusters generally lead to more innovations, knowledge spillovers, faster diffusion of technologies and knowledge, and competitive advantages ...
