Triacylglycerol‐Based Insulin Resistance Indices and Post‐Transplantation Diabetes Mellitus After Liver Transplantation

open access: yesLipids, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background: Post‐transplant diabetes mellitus (PTDM) is a common complication following liver transplant (LT) and is associated with adverse outcomes. The triacylglycerol‐glucose product (TyG) and the triacylglycerol‐to‐high‐density lipoprotein (HDL) cholesterol ratio (TAG/HDL‐c) are indices that can serve as triacylglycerol‐based proxies for ...

Identification of key process areas in the production on an e-capability maturity model for UK construction organisations [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Uptake of e-procurement by construction organisations has been slow (Martin, 2008). Positive e-business achievements in other industries, point towards the potential for the construction industry to accomplish similar results.

Gait Alterations Due to DCC Gene Variants in Individuals with Congenital Mirror Movements

open access: yesMovement Disorders Clinical Practice, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Congenital Mirror Movement Syndrome (CMMS) involves involuntary movements on one side of the body while voluntary movements are performed on the other side. They disrupt left–right coordination and can be caused by a pathogenic variant in the DCC gene.

The role of instrumental activity of daily living disability in the association between circadian syndrome and cardiometabolic multimorbidity in Chinese middle-aged and older adults

open access: yesJournal of Health, Population and Nutrition
Background Instrumental activities of daily living (IADL) disability and circadian syndrome (CirS) are risk factors for the incidence of cardiometabolic disease.

Signatures of tunable Majorana-fermion edge states

open access: yes, 2014
Chiral Majorana-fermion modes are shown to emerge as edge excitations in a superconductor--topological-insulator hybrid structure that is subject to a magnetic field.

Artificial Intelligence as an Add‐On Instrument in Fetal Ultrasound; Sonographers' and Obstetricians' Expectations

open access: yesPrenatal Diagnosis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Artificial intelligence applications (AIA) in fetal ultrasound are rapidly evolving, yet their integration into routine clinical practice remains limited. This study explores the attitudes, expectations and concerns of obstetric sonographers and gynecologists regarding AIA as a diagnostic aid during fetal anomaly scans.

Associations between depression and risk of cardiometabolic multimorbidity among middle-aged and older Chinese adults

open access: yesScientific Reports
Numerous studies have performed the association between depression and increased risk of cardiometabolic diseases (CMDs). However, there is limited understanding regarding the impact of the depression on cardiometabolic multimorbidity (CMM), particularly

How does leaf age affect performance? A comparative study of essential oils from young and mature Eucalyptus globulus leaves in crop protection

open access: yesPest Management Science, EarlyView.
Leaf age influences metabolomic profiling but not bioactivity of Eucalyptus globulus essential oils. Leaf age affects volatile levels of young and adult E. globulus oils, but not their bioactivity. Young leaf essential oil had higher contents of α‐ and β‐pinene. AEEO had higher levels of 1,8‐cineole and trans‐pinocarveol.
