Experimental Comparative Analysis of Hole‐Making Strategies and Cutting Parameters on Flexural Properties and Induced Delamination in S2 Glass and Basalt Fiber‐Reinforced Polymers

open access: yesPolymer Composites, EarlyView.
Hole‐making strategy and machining parameters influence delamination and hole quality in S2‐glass and basalt FRP composites, which subsequently affet flexural performance. Improved hole integrity leads to enhanced structural performance during three‐point bending.

Nonwoven rCF/PA6 Thermoplastic Composites: Hybrid Commingled Fibers vs. Powder Impregnation—Effects on Microstructure and Mechanical Properties

open access: yesPolymer Composites, EarlyView.
Comparison of powder impregnation and hybrid commingled non‐wovens for PA6/rCF nonwoven composites. The two‐step powder route gives lower voids and higher properties, while the single‐step hybrid route is limited by precursor inhomogeneity and high void content.

Stabilization of Contour Milling on CNC Machines

open access: yesJournal of Engineering Sciences
Contour milling processes are characterized by a quasi-stationary nature, which leads to the need to assign a cutting mode for the entire contour based on the most unfavorable cutting conditions in a particular area. Simultaneously, CNC machines allow for selecting different cutting modes for contour sections, stabilizing cutting conditions along the ...

Electrospun PVA Scaffolds Containing MCM‐41/CNC Nanocomposites for Controlled Drug Release in Wound Dressings

open access: yesPolymer Engineering &Science, EarlyView.
Cellulose nanocrystals extracted from Mauritia flexuosa petiole were combined with MCM‐41 mesoporous silica to create a diclofenac‐loaded hybrid nanocomposite. Incorporation into electrospun PVA scaffolds enabled controlled diclofenac release and high cell viability, highlighting their potential for localized drug delivery.

Accuracy control of contour milling on CNC machines [PDF]

open access: yesMechanics and Advanced Technologies, 2018
The possibility of checking the accuracy of contours directly on a CNC machine equipped with a three-axis contact probe is proved. The technique of accuracy control of parts contours is presented, which is based on three-coordinate contact probe measurements according to the developed control program using standard CNC commands with automatic data ...

Fatigue Strength in Additive Toolmaking: A Study of Metal Binder Jetting and Electron Beam Melting for Processing Carbide‐Rich Cold‐Work Tool Steels

open access: yessteel research international, EarlyView.
Focusing on the critical tap hole region of the blast furnace, this work examines binder characteristics, prepares tap hole clay with different formulations, and evaluates their physical properties. The findings confirm the advantages of composite binders and offer a new binder option for tap hole clay.
