Non‐canonical PKG1 regulation in cardiovascular health and disease

open access: yesBritish Journal of Pharmacology, EarlyView.
It is well established that the cyclic GMP‐dependent protein kinase I (PKG1) is canonically activated by cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cGMP), enabling its regulation of vascular tone, cardiac function and smooth muscle homeostasis. However, diverse non‐canonical stimuli of PKG1 have also been identified.

Drafting the calmodulation playbook: Emerging structural insights into transient receptor potential channel regulation by calmodulin

open access: yesThe Journal of Physiology, EarlyView.
Abstract figure legend Calmodulin (CaM) is a ubiquitous calcium (Ca2+) sensor that translates intracellular Ca2+ signals into modulation of hundreds of effector proteins including ion channels. CaM is increasingly recognized as a key regulator of the transient receptor potential (TRP) channel family, yet the underlying ‘calmodulation playbook’ is only ...

Emissions pollutant from diesel, biodiesel and natural gas refuse collection vehicles in urban areas [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Urban pollution is more and more concern due to human health implications. In that way, emissions pollutant from commercial vehicles which move daily at fixed itineraries such as, buses and refuse collection vehicles must be monitored.

Outcomes and Surgical Management of Malignant Rhabdoid Tumor of the Kidney: A Report From the Pediatric Surgical Oncology Research Collaborative

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, Volume 73, Issue 6, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Purpose Malignant rhabdoid tumor of the kidney (MRTK) is a rare, aggressive tumor seen in young children. The optimal timing of resection for locally advanced tumors is not well‐defined. The purpose of this study is to evaluate modern oncologic outcomes and the impact of surgical timing. Methods A multicenter retrospective review was performed

Modeling the Feasibility of Fueling CNG Heavy-Duty Trucks in Toronto, Canada

open access: yesFindings
Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) is cleaner than diesel for powering heavy duty trucks. A framework for establishing mobile on-site CNG refueling at truck yards is proposed and evaluated for the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area (GTHA), Canada. The locations

Atom‐by‐Atom Multimetal CuMoP Deposition on Carbon Electrodes for Sensitive Antidiabetic Metformin Electrooxidation

open access: yesAnalytical Science Advances, Volume 7, Issue 1, June 2026.
An atom‐by‐atom ternary Cu–Mo–P nanocomposite is electrochemically co‐deposited onto screen‐printed carbon electrodes to create a highly active sensing interface for metformin detection. The porous mixed‐valence network enhances electroactive surface area and charge transfer, enabling sensitive and selective electrooxidation with a low detection limit.

Transport energy and emissions: urban public transport [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
This chapter explores how to measure energy and emissions from urban transport. It then provides information to make a comparison between energy use and CO2 emissions for urban travel by car, train, tram and bus. A substantial difference is noted between
