Endodontic Complexity: A Scoping Review of Case Difficulty Assessment Tools and Indices

open access: yesInternational Endodontic Journal, Volume 59, Issue 7, Page 1358-1375, July 2026.
ABSTRACT Background Endodontic treatment varies in complexity, and accurate assessment of case difficulty is essential for clinical success, guiding referrals, and enhancing patient safety, particularly amongst general dental practitioners (GDPs). Objective This scoping review aimed to identify and appraise the available tools and indices developed to ...

Liver Injury From Medications Used for Treating Inflammatory Bowel Disease: The Drug‐Induced Liver Injury Network Experience

open access: yesLiver International, Volume 46, Issue 7, July 2026.
ABSTRACT Background We aimed to investigate and characterise DILI due to approved therapies for inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). Methods Using the Drug‐Induced Liver Injury Network (DILIN) prospective study, we evaluated definite, highly likely, or probable DILI attributed to IBD therapies, including use for non‐IBD indications (but excluding ...

Thermal and Photocatalytic Conversion of CO2 to Ethanol: Advances in Catalyst Design, Challenges, and Opportunities

open access: yesChemSusChem, Volume 19, Issue 12, 26 June 2026.
This review examines thermo‐ and photocatalytic routes for converting CO2 to ethanol and analyzes how metal alloying, promoters, supports, surface structure, and semiconductor design govern catalyst activity, selectivity, and stability. It integrates mechanistic insights from experimental and theoretical studies and identifies the main challenges and ...

Characterisation of the anti-inflammatory and anti-proliferative effects of natriuretic peptides in rodents.

open access: yes, 2007
Natriuretic peptides are a family of vasoactive hormones that play important roles in cardiovascular homeostasis. These peptides exert biological effects primarily via activation of guanylate cyclase (GC)-coupled natriuretic peptide receptors (NPR) that ...

Enhanced Terahertz Thermoelectricity Via Engineered Van Hove Singularities and Nernst Effect in Moiré Superlattices

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, Volume 36, Issue 50, 22 June 2026.
Moiré band engineering in graphene/hexagonal boron nitride–based superlattices unlocks van Hove singularities (VHSs) for terahertz (THz) optoelectronics. Tuning the Fermi level near these singularities, associated with secondary neutrality points (SNPs), enhances the photothermoelectric response.

Magnetothermal‐Triggered Response and Self‐Healing of Recyclable and Reprocessable Nanocomposites for Actuation Systems

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, Volume 36, Issue 45, 5 June 2026.
Developing recyclable materials for magnetic robotics that combine rapid response and self‐healing properties is challenging. Hence, this study focuses on the integration of magnetothermal nanoparticles into a dynamic sorbitol‐based vitrimer, a recyclable composite capable of remote actuation and self‐healing by magnetic heating.
