Aligned Graphene Nanoribbons and Crossbars from Unzipped Carbon Nanotubes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Aligned graphene nanoribbon (GNR) arrays were made by unzipping of aligned single-walled and few-walled carbon nanotube (CNT) arrays. Nanotube unzipping was achieved by a polymer-protected Ar plasma etching method, and the resulting nanoribbon array was ...

Ideal Molecular Sieving with a Dense MOF for Helium Upgrading with Highly Diffusion Selective Mixed Matrix Membranes

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The separation of Helium gas from natural gas is challenging but highly important. MIL‐116(Ga), a “non‐porous” metal–organic framework is used as a molecular sieve to separate He from CH4. Druse‐like MIL‐116(Ga) particles are integrated into polysulfone mixed matrix membranes.

CCVD synthesis of carbon nanotubes from (Mg,Co,Mo)O catalysts: influence of the proportions of cobalt and molybdenum [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
Carbon nanotubes have been synthesised by catalytic chemical vapour deposition of a H2–CH4 mixture (18 mol% CH4) over (Mg,Co,Mo)O catalysts. The total amount of cobalt and molybdenum has been kept constant at 1 cat% and the proportion of molybdenum with ...

3D (Bio) Printing Combined Fiber Fabrication Methods for Tissue Engineering Applications: Possibilities and Limitations

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Biofabrication aims at providing innovative technologies and tools for the fabrication of tissue‐like constructs for tissue engineering and regenerative medicine applications. By integrating multiple biofabrication technologies, such as 3D (bio) printing with fiber fabrication methods, it would be more realistic to reconstruct native tissue's ...

INVESTIGATING SURFACTANT EFFICIENCY IN CARBON NANOTUBE DISPERSION THROUGH MICROSCOPIC AND SPECTROSCOPIC METHODS [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings on Engineering Sciences
Dispersion of CNTs in solvents is essential for their applications in electronics, materials science, and nano medicine fields. Surfactants are well used to stabilize dispersions of CNTs.

Construction of carbon fiber-carbon nanotube reinforcing phase and mechanical properties of its three-phase composites

open access: yesCailiao gongcheng, 2023
The carbon nanotube (CNT)-polyetherimide (PEI) was successfully grafted onto the surface of carbon fibers (CF) through chemical grafting method for constructing a CF-g-CNT reinforcing phase. Results show the construction of CF-g-CNT fiber can effectively

Growth of aligned carbon nanotubes on carbon microfibers by dc plasma-enhanced chemical vapor deposition [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
It is shown that unidirectionally aligned carbon nanotubes can be grown on electrically conductive network of carbon microfibers via control of buffer layer material and applied electric field during dc plasma chemical vapor deposition growth.

Rational Fine‐Tuning of MOF Pore Metrics: Enhanced SO2 Capture and Sensing with Optimal Multi‐Site Interactions

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A pore tuning strategy to amplify the multi‐site MOF‐SO2 interactions is proposed to achieve an enhanced trace SO2 capture and chemiresistive sensing in highly stable isostructural DMOFs by annelating benzene rings. This work provides a facile strategy to achieve tailor‐made stable MOF materials for specific multifunctional applications.
