Relay assisted interference management in co-channel interference systems

2013 IEEE/CIC International Conference on Communications in China - Workshops (CIC/ICCC), 2013
Interference alignment (IA) is known to achieve the maximum degrees of freedom at high SNR in interference channels, however, the reliability of IA is little discussed in literature. We consider a scenario consisting of multiple antenna transmit-receive pairs and a MIMO relay helping managing the interference.

Outage Probability of Distributed Beamforming with Co-Channel Interference

IEEE Communications Letters, 2012
In this letter, we consider a distributed beamforming scheme (DBF) in the presence of equal-power co-channel interferers for both amplify-and-forward and decode-and-forward relaying protocols over Rayleigh fading channels. We first derive outage probability expressions for the DBF systems.

Performance of MIMO MRC Systems with Co-Channel Interference

2006 IEEE International Conference on Communications, 2006
We determine exact closed-form expressions for the outage probability of multiple-input/multiple-output systems in Rayleigh fading with maximal ratio diversity combining and co-channel interference. Our analysis generalizes prior work in that we place no restrictions on the number or power of the interferers, or on the number of antennas at the ...

OFDM for broadcasting in presence of analogue co-channel interference

IEEE Transactions on Broadcasting, 1995
This paper treats the problems of digital TV terrestrial broadcasting in presence of co-channel interference from analogue TV services. The channel capacity is calculated for the optimum distribution of the transmitted power. An OFDM scheme is presented which is designed to be robust to the analogue TV interference.

The Effects of Co-channel Interference on Spatial Diversity Techniques

2007 IEEE Wireless Communications and Networking Conference, 2007
This paper investigates the effects of co-channel interference on spatial diversity techniques. By analyzing distributions of post-processing signal to noise plus interference ratio (SINR) after matched filtering, we capture the performance characteristics of spatial diversity techniques in an interference limited environment.

Spatial and temporal filtering for co-channel interference in CDMA

Proceedings of IEEE 3rd International Symposium on Spread Spectrum Techniques and Applications (ISSSTA'94), 1995
This paper provides a review of the challenges and opportunities that arise for improving the user capacity of spread spectrum multiple access (SSMA) or code division multiple access (CDMA) based on spread spectrum techniques. Co-channel interference (CCI) in CDMA is the most dominant factor in the limitation of user capacity, while the capacities of ...

Co-channel interference reduction in Rayleigh fading channels

Digital Signal Processing, 2006
Abstract Interference can be a significant problem in loosely organized networks such as ad-hoc radio networks. One technique for dealing with interference is to attempt joint detection of all signals arriving at a node. Iterative algorithms based on the turbo-principle yield significant performance improvements when applied to this problem.
