Abstract By using shale oil as a vehicle oil in coal liquefaction, low hydrogen consumption, low yield of gaseous products, a high yield of hexane-soluble fraction and high conversion of coal were brought about. Hexane-soluble fraction rich in hydrogen was obtained.
