Implications of the downstream handling of captured CO2
Carbon dioxide capture, utilization, and sequestration (CCUS) is a collection of approaches needed to supplement other efforts to achieve net zero carbon emissions.

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

CO2 Ocean Sequestration and CO2 Hydrate.
CO2 ocean sequestration, which is thought to be a promising measure to mitigate global warming, can be classified mainly into the dissolution and the storage methods. On the evaluation of these measures, CO2 hydrate plays an important role, because CO2 becomes a hydrate in the ocean deeper than 500 m (North Pacific Ocean)∼900 m (North Atlantic Ocean ...

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

An isoform of 14‐3‐3 protein regulates transbilayer lipid movement at the plasma membrane
Loss of 14‐3‐3ζ in CHO cells confers resistance to exogenous phosphatidylserine (PS) and impairs endocytosis‐independent inward flip‐flop of fluorescent PS at the plasma membrane. RNAi‐mediated knockdown reproduces this defect, while no additive effect is seen in ATP11C‐deficient cells.

The ubiquitin ligase RNF115 is required for the clearance of damaged lysosomes
Upon lysosomal rupture, an E3 ubiquitin ligase RNF115 translocates from the cytosol to the damaged lysosomal membrane. Moreover, RNF115 depletion impairs the clearance of damaged lysosomes, identifying it as a key regulator of lysosomal quality control.

Development of an efficient 3AP-DMEA-butanol-water phase change absorbent for CO_2 capture
Controlling CO_2 emissions from low-concentration sources like coal-fired power plants and steel mills is crucial for achieving "carbon neutrality" . Amine-based CO_2 capture technology is a leading contender for industrial application.
