Development of an efficient 3AP-DMEA-butanol-water phase change absorbent for CO_2 capture

open access: yes能源环境保护
Controlling CO_2 emissions from low-concentration sources like coal-fired power plants and steel mills is crucial for achieving "carbon neutrality" . Amine-based CO_2 capture technology is a leading contender for industrial application.

Hybrid CO2 capture processes consisting of membranes: A technical and techno-economic review

open access: yesAdvanced Membranes, 2023
Because of the greenhouse effect, there is a pressing need to restrict and reduce CO2 emissions. Post-combustion capture technology is a type of widely used technologies for CO2 capture. Compared to the standalone CO2 capture processes such as absorption

Capturing CO 2 from air [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, 2012
Schellnhuber (1) proposed some well-known solutions to the climate problem: •i) Phasing out of CO2 in the next decades •ii) Energy efficiency •iii) Emission reduction •iv) Systematic decarbonation •v) Efficiency and renewables These suggestions are commendable, but their suggested time scheme lacks realism.

Function‐driven design of a surrogate interleukin‐2 receptor ligand

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Interleukin (IL)‐2 signaling can be achieved and precisely fine‐tuned through the affinity, distance, and orientation of the heterodimeric receptors with their ligands. We designed a biased IL‐2 surrogate ligand that selectively promotes effector T and natural killer cell activation and differentiation. Interleukin (IL) receptors play a pivotal role in

[EMmim][NTf2]—a Novel Ionic Liquid (IL) in Catalytic CO2 Capture and ILs’ Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Science, 2023
Ionic liquids (ILs) have been used for carbon dioxide (CO2) capture, however, which have never been used as catalysts to accelerate CO2 capture. The record is broken by a uniquely designed IL, [EMmim][NTf2].

Inhibiting stearoyl‐CoA desaturase suppresses bone metastatic prostate cancer by modulating cellular stress, mTOR signaling, and DNA damage response

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Bone metastasis in prostate cancer (PCa) patients is a clinical hurdle due to the poor understanding of the supportive bone microenvironment. Here, we identify stearoyl‐CoA desaturase (SCD) as a tumor‐promoting enzyme and potential therapeutic target in bone metastatic PCa.

CO2 Capture by Adsorption Processes

open access: yes, 2019
Adsorption is a reliable process technology that has been in use since the 1960s for gas separation applications. Since the mid 90s, interest has grown around CO2 emissions abatement with adsorption being one of the first technologies considered. There has since been significant research and development on both the materials science, and engineering ...

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

Membrane technologies for CO2 capture [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
This thesis investigates the potential of membrane technology for the effective CO2/CH4 separation. The work focuses on two different membrane processes to accomplish the separation: 1) The use of a gas-liquid membrane contactor for the selective absorption of CO2 from CH4 2) The use of thin, dense gas separation membranes to establish the separation ...

Aggressive prostate cancer is associated with pericyte dysfunction

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumor‐produced TGF‐β drives pericyte dysfunction in prostate cancer. This dysfunction is characterized by downregulation of some canonical pericyte markers (i.e., DES, CSPG4, and ACTA2) while maintaining the expression of others (i.e., PDGFRB, NOTCH3, and RGS5).
