Effects of CO2 and H2S on corrosion of martensitic steels in NaCl(aq) at low temperature [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Corrosion studies were conducted for martensitic carbon steels in brine solutions at 4 °C and 10 MPa (1450 psi), which simulated the subsurface environments encountered in Arctic drilling. Three environments with a 5 % wt. NaCl brine were used: (1) 0.312

Mn‐Induced Support Stabilization and Ir Electronic Activation Enable Acid‐Stable, Low‐Loading IrO2 Water Oxidation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study introduces a dual‐regulation strategy utilizing a Mn‐doped Co3O4 support to enhance the activity and stability of low‐loading IrO2 catalysts for acidic water oxidation. Mn induces strong Mn─O covalency to reinforce the spinel lattice and activates Ir sites via interfacial electron transfer.

CO2‐Assisted Hydrolysis of NaBH4: A Multi‐Function Platform for Enhanced Hydrogen Release, Regeneration of NaBH4, and CO2‐to‐CH4 Conversion

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
CO2 significantly accelerates hydrogen release from aqueous NaBH4 without metal catalysts, eliminating the need for downstream separation. Ball‐milling the hydrolytic products with Mg regenerates NaBH4 with yields exceeding 76% while simultaneously producing methane.
