CO2 Fixation in Rhodopseudomonas Blastica

1987
The Calvin reductive phosphate cycle constitutes the primary pathway for the generation of intermediates of central metabolism from CO2 in plants, algae and virtually all photosynthetic and autotrophic microbes (figure 1a) [1, 2]. Of the two key enzymes, phosphoribulokinase and D-ribulose 1,5 bisphosphate carboxylase-oxygenase (RuBisCO), the latter is ...

[Advances on CO2 fixation by microalgae].

Sheng wu gong cheng xue bao = Chinese journal of biotechnology, 2009
The greenhouse effect, which is believed to occur primarily as a result of the accumulation of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere, has become one of the major environmental concerns and received worldwide attention. In this paper, algae species screening and cultivation for efficient CO2 fixation are reviewed. The related dissolved inorganic carbon (DIC)

Photocatalytic Approach for CO2 Fixation

2016
In order to address the depletion of fossil fuels and the serious environmental problems accompanying their combustion and the concomitant CO2 emission, large-scale chemical conversion of CO2 into energy-rich materials would be an ultimate solution, and several reactions have been proposed.

A study for the biological CO2 fixation and utilization system

Science of The Total Environment, 2001
Increased CO2 in the atmosphere is such a serious problem for mankind that many research and development approaches are implemented to reduce CO2 emissions. One is a biological CO2 fixation using the photosynthetic function of microalgae like Chlorella and Synechocystis sp.

A multienzyme complex for CO2 fixation.

Biochemistry, 1975
Acetyl-coenzyme A carboxylase from Euglena gracilis strain Z was isolated as a component of a multienzyme complex which includes phosphoenolpyruvate carboxylase and malate dehydrogenase. The multienzyme complex was shown to exist in crude extracts and was purified to a homogeneous protein with a molecular weight of 360,000 by gel filtration.

Genetics of CO2 fixation in methylotrophs

1996
In contrast to photoautotrophic bacteria which use light energy for the assimilation of carbon dioxide via the Calvin cycle, methylotrophic bacteria oxidize reduced C1 compounds for this purpose. Those methylotrophs which belong to the genus Xanthobacter are yellow pigmented Gram-negative, obligate aerobes (Wiegel, Schlegel, 1984).

Catalytic fixation of CO2: CO2 purity and H2 supply

1998
An analysis of factors affecting proposed solutions to the CO 2 problem is provided. To consider CO 2 as a feedstock, one has to consider the purity, reactivity, operational conditions, customer preferences, transportation costs, and availability of the CO2.
