An Efficient Perlite/Fe3O4 Magnetic Nanocatalyst for Carbon Dioxide Fixation Under Solvent-free Conditions at Atmospheric Pressure of CO2 [PDF]
The increasing reliance, on fuels has led to an increase in the levels of carbon dioxide causing concerning outcomes like climate change and global warming. In response to this problem, there is a solution; CO2 fixation.

Loss of IGF‐1R impairs DNA‐PKcs recruitment to chromatin leading to defective end‐joining
IGF‐1R promotes radioresistance by facilitating DNA‐PKcs recruitment to chromatin, enabling non‐homologous end‐joining (NHEJ) repair of double‐strand breaks. Inhibition or loss of IGF‐1R disrupts this recruitment to damage sites, driving compensatory reliance on microhomology‐mediated end‐joining (MMEJ) repair.

Catalytic Systems for the Effective Fixation of CO2 into Epoxidized Vegetable Oils and Derivates to Obtain Biobased Cyclic Carbonates as Precursors for Greener Polymers [PDF]
The chemical fixation of carbon dioxide by cycloaddition to biobased epoxides, e.g., vegetable oils, fatty acids, etc., is an efficient, sustainable, and clean strategy to obtain biobased cyclic carbonates.

Finding novel vulnerabilities of hypomorphic BRCA1 alleles
Synthetic lethality screens performed to identify novel vulnerabilities often model complete gene loss, thereby overlooking patient‐derived hypomorphic mutations. In this study, we have performed genome‐wide CRISPR screens on BRCA1 hypomorphic mutations, showing BRCA1I26A behaves like wild‐type, while BRCA1R1699Q mimics deficiency. Furthermore, we have

The utilization of carbon dioxide by the microalgal species Scenedesmus [PDF]
Climate change, which is predominantly a result of anthropogenic global warming, is a major concern for humanity. The scientific consensus is that the rise of greenhouse gases, such as CO2, in the atmosphere has contributed to global warming.

Coordination-induced CO2 fixation into carbonate by metal oxides [PDF]
Here, we have investigated how coordination induces CO2 fixation into a carbonate using a cationic yttrium oxide model catalyst. The infrared spectra show that the first three CO2 molecules are weakly bound to the metal.

MITF maintains genome stability in nonmelanocyte lineages
MITF is essential for melanocyte survival and acts as an oncogene in 10%–20% of melanomas. We show that MITF depletion causes genome instability in nonmelanocytic cells, leading to LATS2‐mediated P53 activation, cell cycle arrest, and apoptosis. This study highlights the role of MITF as a genome maintenance factor beyond the melanocyte lineage. Created

Oncogenic DMTF1β promotes cancer cell motility by regulating autophagy through ULK1 stabilization
In the current study, we demonstrate that the oncogene DMTF1β regulates ULK1 stability by reducing its proteasomal degradation in cancer cells. This stabilization enables ULK1 to induce autophagy, which in turn facilitates cancer cell migration. Consequently, reduced DMTF1β levels lead to decreased autophagy and impaired cancer cell migration.

The proposed mechanism of action for the CDK12/13 inhibitor and cyclin K degrader, CT7439. CDK12/13 inhibition interrupts transcription elongation, leading to increased DNA damage that results in cell death. This agent is a potentially novel treatment option for patients with colorectal cancer. Created in BioRender. Cyclin‐dependent kinase (CDK) 12 and
