Hydrogenation of CO2 on group VIII metals II. Kinetics and mechanism of CO2 hydrogenation on nickel
Journal of Catalysis, 1982The rate of CO2 hydrogenation on Ni/SiO2 was measured as a function of H2 and CO2 partial pressures at 500–600 K, 140 kPa, and 30,000–90,000 h−1. The data show that the rate of CO2 hydrogenation is moderately dependent on CO2 and H2 concentrations at low partial pressures but essentially concentration independent at high partial pressures.

Deactivation of CO2(010) and CO2(001) by hydrogen and deuterium
The Journal of Chemical Physics, 1976The probabilities of deactivating the bending and asymmetric stretching modes of CO2 by hydrogen and deuterium are calculated semiclassically over the temperature range of 300–2000 °K. It is assumed that the molecular interaction potential consists of a superposition of atomic pair repulsion forces.

Hydrogenation of CO2 in a Silent Discharge
1993One of the global environmental problems looming on the horizon is the possibility of a global climate warming caused by emissions of man-made chemicals like carbon dioxide (CO2), methane (CH4), nitrous oxide (N2O) and others. Approximately 57% of the man-made greenhouse forcing is due to emissions of carbon dioxide.

Porous MoxCy/SiO2 Material for CO2 Hydrogenation
Topics in Catalysis, 2019The synthesis and characterization of an inexpensive porous MoxCy/SiO2 material is presented, which was obtained by mixing ammonium hexamolybdate, sucrose, and a mesoporous silica (SBA-15), with a subsequent heat treatment under inert atmosphere. This porous material presented a specific surface area of 170 m2/g.

A continuous system for biocatalytic hydrogenation of CO2 to formate
Bioresource Technology, 2017In this work a novel bioprocess for hydrogenation of CO2 to formate was developed, using whole cell catalysis by a sulfate-reducing bacterium. Three Desulfovibrio species were tested (D. vulgaris Hildenborough, D. alaskensis G20, and D. desulfuricans ATCC 27774), of which D. desulfuricans showed the highest activity, producing 12mM of formate in batch,

Infrared spectra of CO2-doped hydrogen clusters, (H2)N–CO2
The Journal of Chemical Physics, 2012Clusters of para-H2 and/or ortho-H2 containing a single carbon dioxide molecule are studied by high resolution infrared spectroscopy in the 2300 cm−1 region of the CO2 ν3 fundamental band. The (H2)N–CO2 clusters are formed in a pulsed supersonic jet expansion from a cooled nozzle and probed using a rapid scan tunable diode laser. Simple symmetric rotor

Hydrogen production with CO2 capture
Hydrogen is primarily produced from methane reforming and coal gasification, but these processes generate significant CO₂ emissions. The sorption-enhanced water-gas shift (SE-WGS) reaction is a promising technology that enables in-situ CO₂ capture during methane reforming while enhancing H₂ production through equilibrium shifts.Shahid, Muhammad Zubair +3 more

Hydrogenated Detonation Nanodiamond as a Catalyst for CO2 Reduction
CarbonThe ability of hydrogenated detonation nanodiamond particles to participate in CO2 reduction reactions producing formate and acetate ions on their surface was demonstrated. The reactions proceed in air and CO2 under normal conditions and do not require light, thermal and electrochemical activation.
