Determination of the absorption length of CO2, Nd:YAG and high power diode laser radiation for a selected grouting material [PDF]
The laser beam absorption lengths of CO2, Nd:YAG and a high power diode laser (HPDL) radiation for a newly developed SiO2/Al2O3-based tile grout have been determined through the application of Beer-Lambert’s law.

Flexible and robust low-loss selenium-based multimaterial infrared fibers towards CO2 laser ablation
Summary: A small-scale delivery medium for CO2 laser energy with stable performance, flexibility, and high-strength is crucial in extreme laser processing environments, especially for minimally invasive surgery in high-humidity, twisty and narrow ...

Mode-selective toroidal mirrors for unstable resonator planar waveguide and thin slab solid-state lasers [PDF]
In this paper, two new fabrication methods are developed for highly curved toroidal laser resonator mirrors based on laser micromachining of cylindrical substrates that already have the large lateral curvature RT provided by conventional polishing. These

Nanosecond infrared laser (NIRL) low‐volume sampling combined with shotgun lipidomics uncovers distinct lipidome alterations in oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (OPSCC) of the palatine tonsil. Several lipid species consistently differentiate tumor from healthy tissue, highlighting their potential as diagnostic markers.

Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

Unraveling the parameters and biological mechanisms of CO2 laser therapy for acute pain relief
Acute pain-related pathology is a significant challenge in clinical practice, and the limitations of traditional pain-relief drugs have made it necessary to explore alternative approaches. Photobiomodulation (PBM) therapy using CO2 laser has emerged as a

Glioma cells mainly express the endothelin receptor EDNRB, while EDNRA is restricted to a perivascular tumor subpopulation. Endothelin signaling reduces glioma cell proliferation while promoting migration and a proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition associated with poor prognosis. This pathway activates Ca2+, K+, ERK, and STAT3 signalings and is regulated

On the use of CO2 laser induced surface patterns to modify the wettability of Poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) [PDF]
CO2 lasers can be seen to lend themselves to materials processing applications and have been used extensively in both research and industry. This work investigated the surface modification of PMMA with a CO2 laser in order to vary the wettability ...
