Injecting CO2 into carbonate hydrocarbon reservoirs can enhance gas recovery (EGR) and achieve carbon sequestration. However, the mechanism by which supercritical CO2-water-rock interactions alter carbonate wettability remains unclear.

Periprosthetic joint infection establishes a sophisticated immunosuppressive network between CXCR4+ PMN‐MDSCs and Bregs, inducing profound CD8+ T cell paralysis. Alendronate effectively disrupts this CXCR4+ PMN‐MDSC–Breg axis by targeting STAT3, thereby restoring local immune surveillance.

Human activities are increasingly altering the Earth's climate. A particular concern is that atmospheric concentrations of carbon dioxide (CO{sub 2}) may be rising fast because of increased industrialization. CO{sub 2} is a so-called ''greenhouse gas'' that traps infrared radiation and may contribute to global warming.

A rational architectural design of hierarchical, CNT‐interwoven hollow carbon microclusters unlocks and stabilizes a unique monoclinic Co3Se4‐mediated conversion–insertion pathway for potassium storage. This structural confinement effectively guides the reaction kinetics and accommodates severe mechanical strain.

CO2 Highways for Europe: Modeling a Carbon Capture, Transport and Storage Infrastructure for Europe [PDF]
We present a mixed integer, multi-period, cost-minimizing carbon capture, transport and storage (CCTS) network model for Europe. The model incorporates endogenous decisions about carbon capture, pipeline and storage investments; capture, flow and ...

With the dramatically increasing global urbanization, cities have evolved as a leading Greenhouse gases (GHG) emissions contributor. In this regard, urban parks are important carbon sinks as trees absorb Carbon Dioxide (CO2) from the atmosphere through ...

This non‑enzymatic function of DHODH drives sunitinib resistance by competing with TRIM37 to block TRIM28 ubiquitination, thereby stabilizing TRIM28 and activating VEGFA transcription. Disrupting the DHODH–TRIM28 interaction with lisaftoclax restores drug sensitivity.

Optimal management of a flammable forest providing timber and carbon sequestration benefits: an Australian case study [PDF]
In deciding to keep or fell a forest stand given its age, the risk of loss of timber through wildfire is an important consideration. If trees also have value from sequestration of carbon, another effect of fire is the unplanned loss of stored carbon ...
