Methane homologation on Co supported catalysts

1997
The effect of adding K or Cu to Co catalysts has been examined for the two-stage CH 4 homologation reaction. C 2 + selectivity was more than doubled upon addition of K to Co/SiO 2 , whereas, addition of Cu to the same catalyst decreased C 2 + selectivity. These results are discussed in terms of the Co dispersion, support and dopant effects and the

Deactivation of supported nickel catalysts during CO methanation

Applied Catalysis A: General, 2014
Abstract Deactivation of Ni-based catalysts was investigated during CO methanation over different supported catalysts. X-ray diffraction and temperature-programmed hydrogenation analyses were used to investigate nickel particle sintering and carbon formation during the first 24 h on stream.

MoS2-catalyzed methanation of CO with H2S*1

Journal of Catalysis, 1990
Molybdenum disulfide is among the few methanation catalysts of CO that are unaffected by sulfur impurities. Indeed, Mo{sub 2} catalyzes H{sub 2}S splitting, producing H{sub 2} and S{sup o} above 400{degree}C. The overall stoichiometry of the MoS{sub 2}/Al{sub 2}O{sub 3}-catalyzed methanation reaction is 2CO + 2H{sub 2} {yields} CH{sub 4} + CO{sub 2 ...

Methane from CO₂: Influence of different CO₂ concentrations in the flush gas on the methane production in BMP tests.

Waste management (New York, N.Y.), 2017
The influence of carbon dioxide (CO2) in the headspace gas on the specific methane (CH4) production of blank samples with just inoculum during Biochemical Methane Potential (BMP) tests was studied. The headspace of the bottles had been flushed with 15 different ratios of CO2 and N2 prior to incubation, while they were treated otherwise identically. The
