Critical expansion points: Mechanical signs of surrounding rock instability
This study proposes the Rock Bearing‐Expansion Model (RockBEM) with critical expansion points (CEPs) to quantify post‐peak damage stages in deep‐buried rock masses via plane strain compression test (PSCT). CEP hysteresis&interval ratios reveal bearing performance dynamics and failure severity, advancing mechanistic insights into deep underground rock ...

The impact of forced closure on proppant distribution of hydraulic fracturing in shale formations
Research findings demonstrate that implementing forced closure within shale formations can remarkably mitigate proppant settlement, concurrently increasing the effective propped surface area from 29.74% to 38.68%. Abstract Forced closure is widely used in conventional oil and gas reservoirs to promote uniform proppant placement.

Multi-indicator precursor warning method for gas-bearing coal rock fracture based on charge signals
To address the challenge of accurate precursor charge signal warning for gas-bearing coal rock dynamic disasters, a comprehensive warning method based on multi-indicator charge signals for gas-bearing coal rock failure is proposed.

Distribution and genesis of mercury in natural gas of large coal derived gas fields in China
The mercury content in natural gas samples from more than 500 gas wells in eight large gas bearing basins of China was tested, mercury release experiments on two coal samples from different areas were conducted, and the mercury content of 11 coal samples
