Application of Cellulose‐Polyaniline Blends as Electrolytes of Lithium‐Ion Battery

open access: yesAdvanced Energy and Sustainability Research, EarlyView.
The study explores integration of natural and conductive polymers in battery components, emphasizing cellulose/polyaniline‐based thin films. Findings reveal that polyaniline enhances ionic conductivity, discharge capacity, and cycling stability. Electrolytes exhibit wide electrochemical stability window (>4.5 V) and high Li+ transference number (0.44–0.

Toward Energy Justice Principles for Sustainable Lithium‐Ion Battery Technologies

open access: yesAdvanced Energy and Sustainability Research, EarlyView.
Prefeasibility life cycle assessment is used to evaluate the environmental, social, and supply chain impacts of lithium‐ion battery technologies, and the concept of distributional energy justice is discussed. By comparing chemistries and use cases, it reveals inequities in material sourcing and technology access.
