Dynamic cracking properties and generating conditions of coal under rapid gas release

open access: yesDeep Underground Science and Engineering, EarlyView.
Gas release tests revealed that crack initiation and propagation are jointly controlled by initial crack length, residual strength, and gas release velocity. A new outburst risk coefficient was thus developed from a fracture mechanics perspective, offering a novel predictive approach.

Joint ground and underground gas extraction mode and its key technology for outburst coal seam group

open access: yesMeitan xuebao, 2023
China’s coal seams are characterized by high ground stress, low permeability, high gas pressure, and high gas content, and their gas outburst hazards are serious. Therefore, some effective gas extraction measures must be taken for coal seams.

Experimental and smoothed particle hydrodynamics‐finite element method simulation investigation of synergistic erosion mechanism of gangue‐based abrasive water jets

open access: yesDeep Underground Science and Engineering, EarlyView.
This study proposes an eco‐friendly coal permeability enhancement technique by utilizing mine waste gangue as an abrasive in high‐pressure water jets. Integrating erosion experiments with smoothed particle hydrodynamics‐finite element method coupled simulations, the research study elucidates the flow field dynamics and a nonlinear solid–liquid ...

Risk prediction of coal and gas outburst

open access: yesGong-kuang zidonghua, 2022
In order to solve the problems of low accuracy and slow response speed of existing support vector machine (SVM)-based coal and gas outburst prediction methods, a risk prediction method of coal and gas outburst based on improved grey wolf optimizer (IGWO) optimized SVM is proposed. The influence degree of each influencing factor on coal and gas outburst

The Effect of a Tectonic Stress Field on Coal and Gas Outbursts [PDF]

open access: yesThe Scientific World Journal, 2014
Coal and gas outbursts have always been a serious threat to the safe and efficient mining of coal resources. Ground stress (especially the tectonic stress) has a notable effect on the occurrence and distribution of outbursts in the field practice. A numerical model considering the effect of coal gas was established to analyze the outburst danger from ...

Energy principle of simulation experiments on coal and gas outburst

open access: yesMeitan xuebao, 2023
Coal and gas outburst is an extremely destructive gas dynamic disaster in mines. Since such dynamic disasters are usually difficult to observe directly, physical similarity simulation of coal and gas outburst has become an important method for collecting

Research on Crack Propagation and Stress Propagation in Coal‐Rock Combinations Under Different In Situ Stresses Subjected to Blasting Loads

open access: yesEnergy Science &Engineering, EarlyView.
A stress wave propagation model for coal‐rock combinations under in situ stress was established. Taking a coal mine in Huainan, China as the engineering background, isotropic and anisotropic numerical models were constructed. Field engineering practices were carried out to verify the reliability of the conclusions.

Influence law of abnormal coal thickness zone on coal and gas outburst

open access: yesMeitan xuebao
Coal and gas outburst is the most serious dynamic disaster threatening the safety production of coal mines in China. The abnormal area of coal thickness is an important factor affecting the occurrence of coal and gas outburst.
