Effect of Coal Mine Health and Safety Act on Respirable Dust Concentrations in Coal Mines
American Industrial Hygiene Association Journal, 1972Under the Federal Coal Mine Health and Safety Act of 1969 the operators of coal mines are required (effective June 30, 1970) to maintain the average concentration of respirahle dust in active workings at or helow 3.0 mg/m.3 The standard is reduced to 2.0 mg/m3 after December 30, 1972.

Concentrations of atmospheric SO2, NO2 and dust in the lublin coal basin area
Science of The Total Environment, 1990Abstract This paper presents concentrations of SO 2 , NO 2 and total suspended particulates (TSP) in the atmosphere as well as the quantity of dustfall. Air samples were collected periodically over a 1-year period at eight monitoring stations situated in an area of 8 × 8 km 2 , located in the Central Coal Region area of the Lublin Coal Basin.

Prediction of Respirable Dust Concentration in Coal Mine Based on Neural Network
2020 IEEE Conference on Telecommunications, Optics and Computer Science (TOCS), 2020Pneumoconiosis is the most important occupational disease in China, and respiratory respirable dust is the main cause of pneumoconiosis. It can effectively reduce the incidence of pneumoconiosis by improving the monitoring and supervision level of respiratory dust concentration in the workplace.

Measurement of the mass concentration of airborne dust in coal mines by light-scattering
Journal of Aerosol Science, 1973Abstract The paper presents calculations of the scattered-light intensities, at various angles, for clouds of spheres of the materials found in the dust in coal mines. These calculations predict that an angle exists at which the light scattered per unit mass concentration is equal for clouds of coal particles and of limestone particles, and that this

Limiting oxygen concentration for coal dusts for explosion hazard analysis and safety
Journal of Loss Prevention in the Process Industries, 2013Abstract Investigation of explosion characteristics of coal dust was undertaken as a part of regular research program at CSIR-CBRI, Roorkee, India, for designing explosion safety measures for coal dust handling installations. This paper presents results of detailed experimental work on determination of Limiting Oxygen Concentration (LOC) and ...

Combustion and Flame, 1962
Abstract The upper and lower limits of concentration for upward propagation of flame in a vertical tube are given on a probability basis for coal dust-air mixtures. The 0·5 probability value of the lower limit varied from 0·23 to 0·31 g/l. and the upper limit varied from 2·07 to 1·02 g/l.; the actual value depending on the definition of propagation ...

High Dust Concentration ESP for Coal-fired Boiler of 300 MW Generator
2009In the dry Flue Gas Desulphurization(FGD) system, ESP plays an important role; one of its outstanding characteristics is that it can treat with high dust concentration flue gas. Compared with conventional ESP equipped for coal-fired boilers, the successful application of this kind of ESP is a great breakthrough.
