Palaeoenvironmental and climatic changes from the lateglacial of the Saalian to the Late Weichselian in central Poland: a multiproxy study from Józefów

open access: yesBoreas, EarlyView.
Józefów site is a case study which provides a detailed record of environmental and climate changes and confirms the main traces of the landscape morphogenesis of the Late Pleistocene established in central‐eastern Europe. This study presents a multiproxy reconstruction of palaeoenvironment under variable climatic conditions from the retreat of the ...

Characteristics of respirable dust in eight appalachian coal mines: A dataset including particle size and mineralogy distributions, and metal and trace element mass concentrations

open access: yesData in Brief, 2019
Respirable dust samples were collected in several key locations of eight underground coal mines in central and northern Appalachia. In total, there were 76 unique sampling events (i.e., specific location in a specific mine).

The Unexpected Discovery of Paleocene? Coals in Outcrops Thought to Be Cambrian, Al Huqf, Oman

open access: yesJournal of Petroleum Geology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Two brown organic deposits were encountered whilst investigating kaolinitic claystones thought to occur at the base of a Cambrian formation at outcrop. The age of these organic deposits is probably Paleocene from palynology. Organic petrography shows that they are subbituminous coals with some oil source potential.

Evaluating maturity of organic matter in hydrated C1 and CM‐like clasts and a dehydrated clast within a polymict eucrite and a howardite

open access: yesMeteoritics &Planetary Science, EarlyView.
Abstract Volatile‐rich xenolithic clasts in different types of brecciated meteorites represent unique pristine solar system material. This study investigates the maturity and thermal history of organic matter using Raman spectroscopy and aqueous alteration effects using infrared spectroscopy in the matrix of 15 volatile‐rich clasts (C1 and CM‐like ...

Coal dust explosibility and particle-size distribution [PDF]

open access: yes
"An absorption/desorption model of particle reactivity was employed to describe the observed relationship between two apparently diverse phenomena which have been the subject of considerable study at the U.S. Bureau of Mines, viz.

Bed‐scale quantitative discrimination of hyperpycnites from intrabasinal turbidites—Results from a channelised slope system in the Upper Carboniferous Westward Ho! Formation, United Kingdom

open access: yesSedimentology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Features considered indicative of hyperpycnites and intrabasinal turbidites overlap. Outcrop study presented here suggests that the Westward Ho! Formation forms an 800 m high deepwater‐slope system dominated by hyperpycnites. Taking this unit, and other successions where hyperpycnites have been described, as having been deposited solely from ...

Dust removal efficiency of high pressure atomization in underground coal mine

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mining Science and Technology, 2018
To master theoretical calculation for dust removal efficiency of high pressure atomization in an underground coal mine, the corresponding atomization characteristics and dust removal efficiency were both comprehensively studied in theory by virtue of ...
