Coal gasification and occupational health

American Industrial Hygiene Association Journal, 1978
Identification and prevention of health effects due to occupational exposures in coal gasification processes requires a basic knowledge of the technological process by which gasification proceeds. This paper presents an overview of the technology and a rational approach to health hazard identification based upon the concept of the unit operation ...

Gasification of an Indonesian subbituminous coal in a pilot-scale coal gasification system

Korean Journal of Chemical Engineering, 2007
Indonesian Roto Middle subbituminous coal was gasified in a pilot-scale dry-feeding gasification system and the produced syngas was purified with hot gas filtering and by low temperature desulfurization to the quality that can be utilized as a feedstock for chemical conversion.

Economics of Coal Gasification

1981
Coal gasification is already well established commercially and of the various possible new coal conversion routes, gasification is likely to be the first large scale application. The reasons for this are partly historical, in that there has been a rapid growth in natural gas consumption over the last few decades; a deficiency of supplies to meet this ...

Coal Gasification

1986
The conversion of organic parts of solids to gas products by the help of some gases and vapours is called "gasification". Here, there are heterogenous reactions created by solid and gas phases. The water vapour, air, H2 , C02 , and 02 or their mixtures are the most common gasifiers.

Coal Gasification in Europe

1979
Several European countries have been pioneers in coal gasification, both for surface gasification from coal mined underground and for in-situ gasification. With respect to the former, mention may be made of the industrial plants employing the German processes, the Koppers-Totzek and Lurgi processes, and in the latter the research conducted for 50 years

Refractories for Coal Gasification

2020
Coal gasification is an important industrial chemical process and a step towards cleaner energy. The synthetic gas produced from coal gasification can be used both as a fuel and as starting material for many other synthetic chemicals. Different processes used for coal gasification is discussed.
