Heteroatom‐Engineered Porous Carbon Sorbents for Atmospheric Water Harvesting Under Arid Conditions

open access: yesAdvanced Sustainable Systems, Volume 10, Issue 8, August 2026.
Sorbent‐based atmospheric water harvesting is constrained by sorbents that require high regeneration temperatures, cycle slowly, or underperform at low relative humidity. Here a bulk chemical‐activation route builds pore structure and heteroatom functionality into phenolic‐ and urea‐derived carbons, providing daily water yields of 18 to 24 L kg−1 day−1

Engineering NixCu(100‐x)@Ni Electrocatalysts on Microwave‐Reduced Ni/C for Efficient Hydrogen Evolution Reaction

open access: yesChemCatChem, Volume 18, Issue 16, 27 August 2026.
A synergistic three‐layer Ni30Cu70/Ni/M catalyst, consisting of a microwave‐reduced Ni/C base, an electrodeposited Ni interlayer, and a Ni–Cu alloy top layer, was developed for alkaline HER. The Ni30Cu70/Ni/M catalyst exhibited efficient catalytic activity and stable performance over 60 h.

Exploring Tradeoffs in Syngas Production With Solid‐Oxide Electrolysis via Multi‐Objective Optimization

open access: yesChemie Ingenieur Technik, Volume 98, Issue 8, Page 495-506, August 2026.
This work applies multi‐objective optimization to investigate trade‐offs between different objectives in syngas production with solid‐oxide cell co‐electrolysis. Two system designs are investigated. By systematically exploring tradeoffs between different objectives, insights, and comparisons of the operation of these designs are achieved.
