Simulation to coating weight control for galvanizing
AIP Conference Proceedings, 2013Zinc coating weight control is one of the most critical issues for continuous galvanizing line. The process has the characteristic of variable-time large time delay, nonlinear, multivariable. It can result in seriously coating weight error and non-uniform coating.

Measurement of the coating weight of diffuse coated media
Optical Society of America Annual Meeting, 1992The transmittances of coated paper and base paper were measured in a narrow wavelength range over which the absorption of the coating was high and the base paper's absorption was low. The effect on the accuracy of the large spatial variations of the reflectance of the paper was eliminated by the application of a highly reflective, partially transparent

Effect of glycerol and coating weight on functional properties of biopolymer-coated paper
Carbohydrate Polymers, 2011The effects of glycerol concentration and coating weight on biopolymer-coated paper properties were investigated using response surface methodology. Tests were run on the coated papers to determine water vapor barrier and mechanical properties. Coating weight was the most important parameter affecting water vapor permeability (WVP).

The determination of tin coating weights on tinplate
Journal of the Society of Chemical Industry, 1947AbstractMethods for estimating coating weights on tinplate by removing the tin coating quantitatively were critically examined. The action of several stripping reagents on both hot‐dipped and electrolytic tinplates was studied by measuring weight losses after various periods of immersion and by metallographic examinations of the stripped specimens ...

Coating weight reduction by a carrier layer for tensioned‐web slot coating
Polymer Engineering & Science, 2009AbstractThe feasibility of using a dilute bottom carrier layer to reduce the thickness of a viscous top layer for tensioned‐web slot coating was examined experimentally. Aqueous poly(vinyl) alcohol solutions were prepared for both the carrier and the top layers. The solutions were coated on poly(ethylene terephthalate) films for observation.

The influence of molecular weight on the anticorrosion properties of chitosan coatings
International Journal of Biological MacromoleculesThe effort to replace toxic compounds with natural alternatives led to intensive investigations on the use of polysaccharides as coatings for corrosion protection. Biological macromolecules, such as chitosan, demonstrate great potential for the development of sustainable anticorrosion coatings.
