Real-time evolution of an embedded controller for an autonomous helicopter [PDF]
In this paper we evolve the parameters of a proportional, integral, and derivative (PID) controller for an unstable, complex and nonlinear system. The individuals of the applied genetic algorithm (GA) are evaluated on the actual system rather than on a ...

Quantification of rheological parameters in deep‐sea mining plumes
This study explores the variations in rheological properties observed during the propagation of deep‐sea mining plumes, utilizing rheological test data obtained from kaolin clay plumes. Subsequently, taking into account the differences in sediment properties, the effects of clay content and clay mineral composition on the rheological parameters of ...

From the reviews, a new concept of a low‐speed centrifugal pump (LSCP) driven by a vertical ultra‐low‐head hydro turbine (VULHT) was designed and tested on simulation and physical setup. It was performed with a 1.8 m delivery head, concluding as inefficient. For ultra‐low‐head conditions, different than centrifugal action is recommended.

Aerodynamic loading on sharp and blunt trailing-edged rotor blades at high advance ratio
Reverse flow on the retreating side of a rotor disk is an intrinsic aerodynamic limitation of high-speed, high advance ratio rotorcraft. For traditional single main rotor helicopters, the influence of flow reversal is not significant, but it is important

Ions as Architects of DNA Nanostructures: Mechanisms, Simulations, and Technological Frontiers
Ions are not merely passive electrolytes but active regulators of DNA nanostructures. This review shows how ion valence, hydration, and specificity govern electrostatic screening, correlation, and confinement, enabling DNA origami, metallized DNA, nanopores, hydrogels, DNAzymes, molecular machines, and energy devices through integrated experimental and

Applying rotorcraft modelling technology to renewable energy research [PDF]
The perceived need to reduce mankind's impact on the global climate motivates towards a future society in which a significant proportion of its energy needs will be extracted from the winds and the tides of the planet.

Advances in Triboelectric Nanogenerators With Rotating Structure
The rotating TENG has been widely studied for its superiorities of simple structure, high efficiency, and stable output. This review introduced the four different principles of rotating TENG and offered a thorough summary for performance and application research through three‐level classification. Importantly, the current existing problems, challenges,
