An Insulated Coaxial Probe for EM Local Heating
IEEE Transactions on Biomedical Engineering, 1985An insulated miniature coaxial probe with a modified geometry has been developed for EM local heating of a biological (or conducting) medium. This probe is basically a lossy coaxial cavity, and its input impedance, current distribution, and power dissipation pattern can be controlled by the selection of terminal impedances, insulating sheath, and the ...

A novel 24-GHz bandwidth coaxial probe
IEEE Transactions on Instrumentation and Measurement, 1990An electrical probe based on specially designed coaxial tips is shown to have 24-GHz bandwidth. It can be used to test high-speed signal propagation on planar or nonplanar chip or package interconnection structures with signal/ground pads as small as 50 mu m. The detailed fabrication procedure, characterization, and use of the probe are presented.

Simulation and experimental study on coaxial pulse probe
2013 IEEE 11th International Conference on Electronic Measurement & Instruments, 2013A coaxial pulse probe is designed and tested. The probe with different monopole is simulated and compared, and the experiment on the coaxial pulse probe with spiry monopole is carried out. The simulation and the experimental results indicate that the probe with spiry monopole could be used in the measurement of electromagnetic pulse (EMP) with rising ...

Diagnoses of coaxial probes in shock compression
Review of Scientific Instruments, 2009A miniature diagnostic apparatus, which consists of a target, a guiding tube, a nail-gun, and a simple base, has been developed in the proposed research to estimate batches of pinlike coaxial probes with selectable collision speeds, 198.3, 361.0, and 420.6 mps, corresponding to thrust capabilities of certain minibullets.

Coaxial probes for scanning near‐field microscopy
Journal of Microscopy, 1999This paper deals with the development of coaxial aperture tips integrated in a cantilever probe for combined scanning near‐field infrared microscopy and scanning force microscopy. A fabrication process is introduced that allows the batch fabrication of hollow metal aperture tips integrated on a silicon cantilever. To achieve the coaxial tip arrangement

Modeling of generalized coaxial probes in rectangular waveguides
IEEE Transactions on Microwave Theory and Techniques, 1995An new approach combining the orthogonal expansion method for modeling cylindrical posts in rectangular waveguides and the extension of the three short plane measurement technique is used to obtain the S-matrix for a general coaxial probe in a rectangular waveguide.
