Nuclear alignment in isotopes of cobalt
Physica, 1952Synopsis A significant anisotropy of γ radiation from aligned Co 60 nuclei has been detected. From the variation of the anisotropy with temperature a value for the magnetic moment can be determined: this is 3.5 ± 0.5 nuclear magnetons and is consistent with the Schmidt limit of 3.8 based on nuclear shell model assignments. Isotope effect and self-diffusion in face-centred cubic cobalt
Physica Status Solidi (a), 1979Self-diffusion in cobalt is investigated from 896 to 1745 K by means of the standard radio-tracer method using lathe sectioning in the paramagnetic and sputter sectioning in the ferromagnetic region. The diffusion coefficients vary between about 10−17 cm2 s−1 and 10−9 cm2 s−1; their temperature dependence can be described by DT = 0.55 exp (−2.99 eV/kT)

Analytical Chemistry, 1961Trace amounts of cobalt are determined in vitamin B/sub 12/ and biological materials by an isotope-dilution technique combined with a spectrophotometric method. Interference due to copper is overcome by reduction with metallic iron. The procedure employs Co/sup 60/ as the tracer. (auth)

Canadian Journal of Earth Sciences, 1965Lead isotope ratios indicate that very old galenas in Archean volcanics and sediments in the vicinity of Timmins, Ontario; Noranda and Val d'Or, Quebec, have had additions of younger lead of the type found near Cobalt, Ontario. The mixture of leads of two distinct ages has produced isotopic ratios which are linearly related.

Radiochemical separation of cobalt by isotopic exchange
Talanta, 1964Abstract The radiochemical separation of cobalt by an isotopic exchange technique has been evaluated for an aqueous 0.5 M oxalic acid system. The optimised procedure requires 6 min for the entire separation and gives cobalt yields of more than 83%.
