Design considerations for combined radiation effects facilities for twelve year outer planet spacecraft voyages [PDF]

open access: yes, 1972
The design considerations influencing the choice and utility of environmental simulation methods and facilities are described, insofar as they relate to the requirements imposed on outer planet spacecraft because of radiation environments to be expected.

Cobalt-Catalyzed Stereoretentive Hydrogen Isotope Exchange of C(sp3)–H Bonds [PDF]

open access: yesACS Catalysis, 2017
Cobalt dialkyl complexes bearing α-diimine ligands proved to be active precatalysts for the nondirected, C(sp3)-H selective hydrogen isotope exchange (HIE) of alkylarenes using D2 gas as the deuterium source. Alkylarenes with a variety of substitution patterns and heteroatom substituents on the arene ring were successfully labeled, enabling high levels

Advancements in Graphdiyne‐Based Multiscale Catalysts for Green Hydrogen Energy Conversion

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Discovery, EarlyView.
This review systematically explores the fundamental characteristics of graphdiyne (GDY), cutting‐edge field of GDY‐based multiscale catalysts within sustainable energy conversion systems.Special emphasis is placed on the structure‒property relationships in different reactions.

Study of hyperfine interactions in spinel cobalt ferrite CoFe2O4 doped with Hf, Lu, and Yb using Mössbauer spectroscopy and perturbed γ-γ angular correlation

open access: yesКонденсированные среды и межфазные границы
We studied hyperfine interactions (HFI) in spinel cobalt ferrite (ferrospinel) CoFe2O4 doped with Lu, Yb, and Hf (1 wt. %) by Mössbauer spectroscopy (MS) on 57Fe nuclei.

The denitridation of nitrides of iron, cobalt and rhenium under hydrogen [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
The denitridation behaviour of binary iron, cobalt and rehnium nitrides under H2 /Ar has been investigated. The iron nitride was found to lose over 70 % of its as prepared nitrogen content at 400 °C. The cobalt nitride was completely denitrided at 250 °C.

Radiocobalt theranostic applications: current landscape, challenges, and future directions

open access: yesFrontiers in Nuclear Medicine
Radiocobalt-based theranostics has emerged as a promising platform in nuclear medicine that offers dual capabilities for both diagnostic imaging and targeted radionuclide therapy. 55Co (t1/2 = 17.53 h, β+ = 77%, Eγ = 931.1 keV, Iγ = 75%) and 58mCo (t1/2 =

An investigation by LA-ICP-MS of possum tooth enamel as a model for identifying childhood geographical locations of historical and archaeological human from New Zealand [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
LA -IC P-MS (laser ablation-inductively coupled plasma-mass spectrometry) has been used to analyse enamel from the teeth of brushtail possum (Trichosurus vulpecula) in order to model a method for identifying the childhood geographical origin of human ...

Nucleosynthesis in Primordial Hypernovae

open access: yes, 2018
We investigate the relationship between explosion energy and nucleosynthesis in Population III supernovae and provide nucleosynthetic results for the explosions of stars with progenitor masses of $15\,\mathrm{M}_\odot$, $20\,\mathrm{M}_\odot$, $30 ...

Molecular Mimics of Intermetallic Phases: Selective Alkylamide‐Ligand Deprotection Drives Co/Ga Cluster Formation

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie International Edition, EarlyView.
The bimetallic M14 cluster [Co3Ga2]H(μ2‐GaTMP)9 was achieved by a co‐reductive approach utilizing Mg and H2 to selectively deprotect and capture the Ga‐TMP metallo‐ligands, forming a Co/Ga alloyed cluster kernel, making it a structural representative of a related solid‐state counterpart.

Tungsten thermal neutron dosimeter [PDF]

open access: yes, 1969
Tungsten-185 activity, which is produced by neutron activation of tungsten-184, determines thermal neutron flux. Radiochemical separation methods and counting techniques for irradiated tungsten provide accurate determination of the radiation ...
