Simple Summary The in-feed antibiotics have been banned worldwide, and anticoccidial drugs are also expected to be removed from the formulated, complete feeds. Thus, looking for alternatives to anticoccidials has been on the increase.

We assessed the acceptability and consumption of a custom‐developed nicarbazin bait for feral pigeons, inferred its contraceptive efficacy, and evaluated the reversibility of its effects upon cessation of treatment. Only feral pigeons consumed the bait, except for one eared dove that also ingested the food. Continuous administration of this bait raised

Coccidiosis in poultry: Disease mechanisms, control strategies, and future directions
According to a 2023 survey by the American Veterinarians in Broiler Production, Coccidiosis is the number one disease in the broiler poultry industry. Coccidiosis results in the reduction of growth rate, decrease in feed efficiency, and poor body weight ...

Coccidiosis is a major hazard to the chicken industry, but the host’s immune response to coccidiosis remains unclear. Here, we performed Eimeria coccidia challenge in 28-day-old ROSS 308 broilers and selected the bursa from the three most severely ...

Neonatal lambs with diarrhoea showed increased nitric oxide and decreased heparan sulphate and angiopoietin‐2 levels, suggesting preserved endothelial glycocalyx integrity. Elevated ADAM15 levels in E. coli cases indicate a pathogen‐specific endothelial response, highlighting nitric oxide's potential protective role during inflammation.

Effects of Functional Oils on Coccidiosis and Apparent Metabolizable Energy in Broiler Chickens [PDF]
The objective of the present study was to investigate the effects of a mixture of functional oils (Essential, Oligo Basics Agroind. Ltda) on performance response of chickens challenged with coccidiosis and the determination of apparent metabolizable ...

ABSTRACT The parasite Enteromyxum leei causes serious emaciation disease in marine fish species. Toltrazuril exhibits antiparasitic effects; however, the simultaneous impacts of toltrazuril on parasites and hosts are unclear. Here, we evaluate the cytotoxicity of three commercial toltrazuril products (A, B and C) and the treatment efficacy against E ...

Long‐term immunosuppression of rabbits through oral tacrolimus administration
Oral gavage of rabbits with 1.5 mg/kg/d of tacrolimus allows for an efficient long‐term (1 year) immunosuppression with minimal side effects and no loss of animals. lmmunosuppressed rabbits are a convenient animal model to investigate the long‐term efficacy of human allografts in vivo.

High energy levels in the diet increased weight gain and improved feed conversion ratio. Increasing the stocking density to 16 birds/m2 did not negatively impact broilers performance. ABSTRACT This study aimed to evaluate the effects of dietary metabolisable energy (ME) levels and stocking density (SD) on growth performance, carcass traits, blood ...
