The level of aggressiveness of an individual is a factor that shapes intraguild predation (IGP) interactions. In Nabis americoferus, high aggressiveness leads to an increase in attack rate and IGP against Harmonia axyridis. Moreover, the absence of extraguild prey seems to exacerbate IGP. In docile N.

In Hymenoptera and Heteroptera, the absence of micropyles is one criterion for categorizing an egg as trophic. Undeveloped eggs are observed in more than 90% of the egg clusters of the ladybird beetle Harmonia axyridis Pallas.

Effects of transgenic Cry1Ac + CpTI cotton on non-target mealybug pest Ferrisia virgata and its predator Cryptolaemus montrouzieri [PDF]
Recently, several invasive mealybugs (Hemiptera: Pseudococcidae) have rapidly spread to Asia and have become a serious threat to the production of cotton including transgenic cotton.

The release of gravid Exochomus quadripustulatus females proved to be effective in containing Toumeyella parvicornis infestations on stone pine trees, under open‐field condition. The ladybugs caused a lower infestation level compared to the trees that did not receive any ladybugs during the observation season.

The mutualism between Tapinoma ibericum ants and Aphis gossypii disrupts the biological control exerted by Aphidius colemani in greenhouse peppers. Ant exclusion increased parasitism and the presence of most natural enemies, although Aphidoletes aphidimyza was more abundant with ants.

We determined if mature ladybirds use colour to initially find suitable host plants. We also determined whether ladybird beetles are capable of associating characteristics such as colour with the presence of prey.

Novel Prey Record for Scymnus caudalis LeConte and First Records of Four Other Species of Coccinellidae (Coleoptera) in Wisconsin, U.S.A. [PDF]
New prey and distribution records are presented for five species of lady beetles (Coleoptera: Coccinellidae). Scymnus (Pullus) caudalis LeConte is recorded for the first time preying on Aphis asclepiadis Fitch (Hemiptera: Aphididae).

Reduced fertilization regimes could boost biocontrol service without reducing crop yield
Fertilization level influences pest control effectiveness in tomato crops. High fertilization increases plant growth and aphid density but reduces the performance of the parasitoid Aphidius ervi. In contrast, the predator Adalia bipunctata maintains consistent aphid suppression regardless of fertilization regime.
