Distribution of Fusarium species by weed host and geographic location

open access: yesGlasnik Zaštite Bilja, 2023
Endophytic fungi live within plants without causing obvious disease symptoms. Weeds growing near agricultural fields can harbor these fungi and serve as alternative hosts. We isolated endophytic fungi from 6 species of symptomless weeds common to eastern

Riparian Vegetated Area in Pre‐Dam, Post‐Dam, and Environmental Flow Periods in Canyonlands National Park From 1940 to 2022

open access: yesRiver Research and Applications, Volume 41, Issue 3, Page 662-678, March 2025.
ABSTRACT The Upper Colorado River Basin is the principal water supply of the western United States and includes a series of canyons that provide habitat for disproportionate numbers of flora and fauna. Following the closing of Flaming Gorge and Blue Mesa dams in 1963 and 1966, decreases in peak flows and elevated base flows allowed extensive vegetation

Benefits and challenges of reviewing across knowledge systems: ‘Gourmet omnivore’ pigs foraging in the wild

open access: yesPeople and Nature, Volume 6, Issue 6, Page 2182-2199, December 2024.
Abstract Evidence‐based conservation can benefit substantially from multiple knowledge sources and different knowledge systems. While traditional ecological knowledge (TEK) and collaborative research are increasingly acknowledged, detailed cross‐knowledge system reviews are scarce and their methodology underdeveloped. We have two objectives: to prepare

Enoki‐Inspired Microfibers and Extracellular Matrix Enhance Biaxially Interlocking Interfaces

open access: yesSmall Structures, Volume 5, Issue 11, November 2024.
A biaxially interlocking interface is reported in this work. This interface is formed by interconnecting two electrostatically flocked substrates and its mechanical strength is enhanced through the incorporation of enoki‐mushroom‐shaped microfibers and deposited extracellular matrix.

Influence of weed species and density on lima bean yield and other pests

open access: yesFrontiers in Agronomy
Weeds interfere with lima bean production by reducing crop yield, hindering harvest, and contributing contaminants to harvested beans, yet there are very few trials documenting the impact of weeds on lima bean.

Sedimentology of a delta formed by agricultural river discharge into a flood‐control reservoir, Iowa

open access: yesRiver Research and Applications, Volume 40, Issue 8, Page 1584-1594, October 2024.
Abstract River deltas are ecologically critical landscape components and are responsible as habitats for millions of people, wildlife, and plant communities. Deltas store vast quantities of eroded nutrient‐rich sediment and play a significant role in water quality management through nutrient cycling and storage.
