Coastal ocean circulation during Hurricane Sandy
Abstract Hurricane Sandy (2012) was the second costliest tropical cyclone to impact the United States and resulted in numerous lives lost due to its high winds and catastrophic storm surges. Despite its impacts little research has been performed on the circulation on the continental shelf as Sandy made landfall.

Codar: a congestion-directed general area router
A general area router that integrates the phases of global routing and detailed routing has been developed. The global phase coarsely places the nets based on the congestion of the routing region, and the detailed phase modifies the course wiring to find legal positions for all wire segments.

Introduction to Coastal HF Maritime Surveillance Radars
This paper presents the main technical characteristics and working performances of coastal maritime surveillance radars, such as low-power High-Frequency Surface Wave Radars (HFSWR) and Over the Horizon Radars (OTHR). These radars have demonstrated to be

Ocean Surface Current Observation with a Dual Monopole‐Cross‐Loop Antenna Array
The high‐frequency radars (HFRs) receiving the sea echoes backscattered from the fluctuating ocean surface to remotely sense ocean surface currents are a popular and powerful tool in oceanic observation. Dominant error source in current measurement for HFR systems has been recognized to be the direction of arrival (DOA) determination of the sea echoes.

LOC8 : A location model and extensible framework for programming with location [PDF]
Location is a core concept in most pervasive systems-and one that's surprisingly hard to deal with flexibly. Using a location model supporting a range of expressive representations for spaces, spatial relationships, and positioning systems, the authors ...

Two‐Dimensional River Flow Patterns Observed with a Pair of UHF Radar System
A pair of ultrahigh‐frequency (UHF) radars system for measuring the two‐dimensional river flow patterns is presented. The system consists of two all‐digital UHF radars with exactly the same hardware structure, operating separately at 329–339 MHz and 341–351 MHz.

Surface current data measured by CODAR in the Mississippi Bight.
A) CODAR surface currents measured on 1 January 2011 (blue vectors) at CODAR stations in MS, AL, and FL (green triangles). The red dot indicates the initial position of the pseudo-particle for trajectory runs.

Improving Coastal Circulation Using HF‐Radar Surface Currents
Abstract In an attempt to improve the model‐derived coastal circulation around India, we explore three different frameworks to assimilate surface currents from HF‐Radars into an ocean model for the Indian Ocean. The first approach involves correcting the winds through Ekman Theory using the discrepancy between the model surface currents and the HF ...
