Safety of Daprodustat for the Treatment of Chronic Kidney Disease Anemia: Final Analysis of a Multicenter Postmarketing Surveillance Study in Japan

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction This final analysis of a multicenter, prospective postmarketing surveillance study evaluated the safety of daprodustat in patients with chronic kidney disease anemia in routine clinical practice in Japan. Methods Patients who initiated daprodustat between September 2020 and July 2022 were registered.

CodeGuard: enhancing accuracy in detecting clones within java source code

open access: yesFrontiers in Computer Science
Detecting code clones remains challenging, particularly for Type-II clones, with modified identifiers, and Type-III ST and MT clones, where up to 30% and 50% of code, respectively, are added or removed from the original clone code.

Population and Diversity of Arbuscular Mycorrhiza Fungi in the Rhizosphere of Kasetsart Cassava Clone Grown on Two Different Locations [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Tropical Soils, 2017
Population and diversity of arbuscular mycorrhiza fungi (AMF) are varied in the soil and influenced by biotic factors such as host plant and abiotic factors such as soil fertility, soil moisture, pH, temperature, etc.

Association Between Individualized Education for Kidney Replacement Therapy Modality Selection and Peritoneal Dialysis Initiation: A Cross‐Sectional Study

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction Peritoneal dialysis (PD) is an established home‐based kidney replacement therapy (KRT), but its uptake remains low in Japan. We evaluated whether individualized education in a dedicated outpatient clinic was associated with the initiation of PD.

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

Diversity and complexity in neural organoids

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.

Are there functionally similar code clones in practice? [PDF]

open access: yes2018 IEEE 12th International Workshop on Software Clones (IWSC), 2018
Having similar code fragments, also called clones, in software systems can lead to unnecessary comprehension, review and change efforts. Syntactically similar clones can often be encountered in practice. The same is not clear for only functionally similar clones (FSC).

Rab14 regulates the transport of human papillomavirus to the trans‐Golgi network for infectious cell entry

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals that the small GTPase Rab14 is necessary for human papillomavirus (HPV) infection and plays an essential role in the transport of virions to the trans‐Golgi network (TGN). HPV in the early endosome (EE), which harbors GTP‐bound Rab14, is transported to the TGN through the switch of Rab14 from its GTP‐bound to GDP‐bound form.

A visual clone analysis method

open access: yesFrontiers in Computer Science
The process of creating high-quality software is always a significant challenge for developers. Besides acquiring and honing the trained skills and knowledge needed to fulfill this process successfully, they face the persistent need for better methods ...

An empirical study of code clone genealogies [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the 10th European software engineering conference held jointly with 13th ACM SIGSOFT international symposium on Foundations of software engineering, 2005
It has been broadly assumed that code clones are inherently bad and that eliminating clones by refactoring would solve the problems of code clones. To investigate the validity of this assumption, we developed a formal denition of clone evolution and built a clone genealogy tool that automatically extracts the history of code clones from a source code ...
