Unifying error-correcting code/Narain CFT correspondences via lattices over integers of cyclotomic fields

open access: yesPhysics Letters B
We identify Narain conformal field theories (CFTs) that correspond to code lattices for quantum error-correcting codes (QECC) over integers of cyclotomic fields Q(ζp) (ζp=e2πip) for general prime p≥3. This code-lattice construction is a generalization of

$t$-Frobenius Negacyclic Codes

open access: yes, 2017
Let $\mathbb{F}_p$ denote the finite field of order $p$, where $p$ is an odd prime. We study certain quantum negacyclic codes over $\mathbb{F}_p$ which we call $t$-Frobenius negacyclic codes. We obtain a criterion for constructing such codes from certain

Tumor‐stromal crosstalk and macrophage enrichment are associated with chemotherapy response in bladder cancer

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Chemoresistance in bladder cancer: Macrophage recruitment associated with CXCL1, CXCL5 and CXCL8 expression is characteristic of Gemcitabine/Cisplatin (Gem/Cis) Non‐Responder tumors (right side) while Responder tumors did not show substantial tumor‐stromal crosstalk (left side). All biological icons are attributed to Bioicons: carcinoma, cancerous‐cell‐

HIV‐1 establishes immediate latency in T cells expressing the viral Nef protein

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Nef is a viral protein often omitted from HIV‐1 reporter viruses. Consequently, its role in viral latency is unclear. We developed three novel dual reporter HIV‐1 derivatives that express Nef and allow for detection of latent and productive infection. Using these reporters, we show that Nef does not affect the establishment of immediate viral latency ...

Singleton Bounds for Codes over Finite Rings [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Algebraic Combinatorics, 2000
Let \(R\) be a finite commutative quasi-Froebenius (QF) ring and let \(V=R^n\) be the free module of rank \(n\) consisting of all \(n\)-tuples of elements of \(R\). A code \(C\) of length \(n\) over \(R\) is an \(R\)-submodule of \(V\). For every \(x=(x_1,x_2, \dots,x_n) \in V\) and \(r\in R\), the complete weight of \(x\) is defined by \(n_r(x)= |\{i \

BMI‐1 modulation and trafficking during M phase in diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The schematic illustrates BMI‐1 phosphorylation during M phase, which triggers its translocation from the nucleus to the cytoplasm. In cycling cells, BMI‐1 functions within the PRC1 complex to mediate H2A K119 monoubiquitination. Following PTC596‐induced M phase arrest, phosphorylated BMI‐1 dissociates from PRC1 and is exported to the cytoplasm via its

Meta‐analysis fails to show any correlation between protein abundance and ubiquitination changes

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We analyzed over 50 published proteomics datasets to explore the relationship between protein levels and ubiquitination changes across multiple experimental conditions and biological systems. Although ubiquitination is often associated with protein degradation, our analysis shows that changes in ubiquitination do not globally correlate with changes in ...

C2α‐carbanion‐protonating glutamate discloses tradeoffs between substrate accommodation and reaction rate in actinobacterial 2‐hydroxyacyl‐CoA lyase

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Enzymes of the 2‐hydroxyacyl‐CoA lyase group catalyze the condensation of formyl‐CoA with aldehydes or ketones. Thus, by structural adaptation of active sites, practically any pharmaceutically and industrially important 2‐hydroxyacid could be biotechnologically synthesized. Combining crystal structure analysis, active site mutations and kinetic assays,

Cyclic codes over rings

open access: yes, 2013
Coding theory originated as the mathematical foundation for the transmission of messages over noisy communication channels and deals with the problem of detecting and correcting transmission errors caused by the noise of the channel. The mathematical background needed for example was linear algebra, theory of groups, rings and nite elds, and other ...

Symplectic codes over a non-unitary ring

open access: yesJournal of Algebra and Its Applications
In this paper, we consider the commutative non-unitary ring of order four defined as [Formula: see text] Self-orthogonal codes for a symplectic inner product over [Formula: see text] are introduced. A mass formula to enumerate them under symplectic equivalence is given. An application is a classification of such codes in short lengths.
