Patient‐Level Barriers and Facilitators to Inpatient Physical Therapy in Adolescents and Young Adults With a Hematological Malignancy: A Qualitative Study

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Despite their increased risk for functional impairment resulting from cancer and its treatments, few adolescents and young adults (AYAs) with a hematological malignancy receive the recommended or therapeutic dose of exercise per week during inpatient hospitalizations.

Privacy in Index Coding: Improved Bounds and Coding Schemes

open access: yes, 2018
It was recently observed in [1], that in index coding, learning the coding matrix used by the server can pose privacy concerns: curious clients can extract information about the requests and side information of other clients.

A coding scheme for wireless networks with multiple antenna nodes and no channel information [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
In this paper, we present a coding strategy for wireless relay networks where the relay nodes are small devices with few resources, while the source and sink are equipped with multiple antennas to increase the transmission rate.

Psychological Safety Among Interprofessional Pediatric Oncology Teams in Germany: A Nationwide Survey

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Psychological safety (PS) is essential for teamwork, communication, and patient safety in complex healthcare environments. In pediatric oncology, interprofessional collaboration occurs under high emotional and organizational demands. Low PS may increase stress, burnout, and adverse events.

Accurate Performance Analysis of Coded Large-Scale Multiuser MIMO Systems with MMSE Receivers

open access: yesSensors, 2019
In this paper, we estimate the uplink performance of large-scale multi-user multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) networks. By applying minimum-mean-square-error (MMSE) detection, a novel statistical distribution of the signal-to-interference-plus-noise ...

Codes Induced by Alternative Codes [PDF]

open access: yesActa Mathematica Vietnamica, 2018
Alternative codes, an extension of the notion of ordinary codes, have been first introduced and considered by P. T. Huy et al. in 2004. As seen below, every alternative code, in its turn, defines an ordinary code. Such codes are called codes induced by alternative codes or alt-induced codes, for short.

Developmental Disorders in Children Recently Diagnosed With Cancer

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Neurocognitive deficits in adult survivors of childhood cancer are well established, but less is known about developmental disorders (DD) arising shortly after cancer diagnosis. Using 2016–2019 linked Ohio cancer registry and Medicaid data, we compared DD among 324 children with cancer and 606,913 cancer‐free controls.

Network Coding in a Multicast Switch

open access: yes, 2006
We consider the problem of serving multicast flows in a crossbar switch. We show that linear network coding across packets of a flow can sustain traffic patterns that cannot be served if network coding were not allowed.
