Ab-initio study of anisotropy and nonuniaxial anisotropy coefficients in Pd nanochains
Chemical Physics Letters, 2013Orbital moments and magnetocrystalline anisotropies of linear chains, ladder and zigzag belts of Pd are investigated by first-principle calculations. The second- and fourth-order anisotropy coefficients have been determined, and there are generally strong nonuniaxial contributions, yielding a saddle point in the energy landscape of the zigzag nanobelt.

Anisotropy of the transfer coefficients in organic semiconductors
Theoretical and Experimental Chemistry, 1970Within the framework of the kinetic equation, the assumption of the existence of a relaxation tensor Τ is introduced. From the Onsager relationships in the zeroth approximation with respect to the magnetic field it follows that Τ commutes with matrix where v is the velocity of the electron or the hole.

Apparent anisotropy coefficients
54th EAEG Meeting, 1992The problem of using of A*p, A*sv apparent anisotropy coefficients (AAC) was discussed in papers (Lyakhovitsky, 1984, 1987; Thomsen, 1986; Seriff and Sriram, 1991), but in the general scope of velocity anisotropy terminology by Winterstein (1990) the definition of AAC is absent and only apparent anisotropy is ...

Anisotropy of the backscatter coefficient of formalin-fixed ovine myocardium
The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 2007The objective of this study was to measure the backscatter coefficient of formalin-fixed myocardial tissue as a function of angle of insonification relative to the myocardial fiber direction. Backscatter measurements were performed on eight cylindrical formalin-fixed lamb myocardial specimens and compensated for attenuation and diffraction effects to ...

The Study of Influence Factors of the Transmission Coefficient Anisotropy
Proceedings, 2014In anisotropic media, the P-wave reflection coefficient varies with the incidence and azimuth phase angles. The azimuthal anisotropy of horizontal transverse isotropy (HTI) media is used to detect fractures in the reservoir. In this paper, we introduce the reflection and transmission coefficient at interfaces between two weakly anisotropic HTI media ...

Estimation of molecular anisotropy coefficients by a dielectric method
Chemical Physics Letters, 1992Abstract Using three butyl chloride isomers as test compounds, it is shown that the shape of polar molecules determines in a significant manner the dielectric properties of their dilute solutions in non-polar solvents. Taking into account the anisotropy of both the shape and the polarizability of molecules allows one to reach a useful correlation of ...

Anisotropy of the seebeck coefficients of bismuth telluride
Advanced Energy Conversion, 1961Abstract Anisotropy in the Seebeck effect is found to arise in two separate theoretical situations. It will arise in a single-carrier system when there are two competing scattering mechanisms. One of these (lattice scattering, for example) must be isotropic.

Effective Piezoelectric Coefficients $$d_{ij}^{*}$$: From Microgeometry to Anisotropy
2018Piezoelectric coefficients dij are most widespread to describe the piezoelectric effect, electromechanical properties and other related parameters. The effective piezoelectric coefficients \(d_{ij}^{*}\) and their links to sensitivity are discussed for piezo-active composites with various connectivity patterns. Examples of the piezoelectric sensitivity

Anisotropy coefficient in 2d polydisperse model of composite structures
ECMS 2024 Proceedings edited by Daniel Grzonka, Natalia Rylko, Grazyna Suchacka, Vladimir MityushevThe article presents a mathematical model describing the coefficients related to the electrical conductivity of the varistor. Varistor’s conductivity is closely related to its microstructure, which consists of ZnO grains surrounded by an amorphous bismuth oxide layer, in- tergrain areas rich in reaction products between the varistor components, and ...

Anisotropy Effects on the Thermoelectric Electronic Transport Coefficients
Energy Harvesting and Systems, 2015Abstract Engineering thermoelectric (TE) materials for applications in power generation and cooling requires an understanding of how anisotropy influences the TE properties. In this paper we use an angular-dependent, multivalley formalism to model the band structure and to explore the effect of anisotropy on the ...
