HEAT TRANSFER ENHANCEMENT WITH NANOFLUIDS – A REVIEW [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Mechanical Engineering and Sciences, 2013
This paper presents a review of the studies undertaken on convection heat transfer with nanofluids. Initial studies were directed towards the determination of the properties of nanofluids, especially their thermal conductivity and viscosity.

On the approximate method for determination of heat conduction coefficient

open access: yesZhurnal Srednevolzhskogo Matematicheskogo Obshchestva, 2019
The problem of recovering a value of the constant coefficient in heat equation for one- and two-dimensional cases is considered in the paper. This inverse coefficient problem has broad range of applications in physics and engineering, in particular, for modelling heat exchange processes and for studying properties of materials and designing of ...

Determination of Thermal Conductivity of Nano-ceramic Thermal Insulation Coating on the Surface of a Heat Pipe [PDF]

open access: yesE3S Web of Conferences
In the pursuit of conserving non-renewable fuel and energy resources and mitigating harmful emissions into the atmosphere, thermal insulation is commonly employed in practice for heated elements, including but not limited to building exteriors, boilers ...

Salmonella lipopolysaccharide‐containing supported lipid bilayers as platforms to study bacteriophage interactions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We present robust protocols for the preparation of supported lipid bilayers (SLBs) incorporating either Salmonella smooth LPS or outer membrane vesicles (OMVs). We use a combination of quartz crystal microbalance with dissipation (QCM‐D) and fluorescence microscopy to both characterize the SLBs of various compositions and to probe their interactions ...

Translophagy—A potential link between autophagy impairment and translational errors

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Neurodegenerative diseases are characterised by the accumulation of abnormal proteins and protein aggregates, but their origin often remains unknown. We propose that selective autophagy removes damaged protein‐making machinery, preventing errors during protein synthesis.

Stimulator of interferon genes agonist augmented antitumor immunity of osimertinib in Egfr‐mutated lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Combining osimertinib with the STING agonist ADU‐S100 activates innate and adaptive immunity to overcome the non‐inflamed microenvironment of Egfr‐mutant lung cancer. This combination increases NK and CD8+ T‐cell infiltration, associated with activation of the STING‐IRF3 pathway and local immunogenic cell death.

Measurement of thermal conductivity using 2D inverse heat conduction problem approach by identifying simultaneously the heat dissipation phenomena

open access: yesCase Studies in Thermal Engineering
Various methods for measuring thermal conductivity have been applied under both steady-state and transient conditions. A challenge in thermal conductivity measurement lies in accurately identifying the heat dissipated to the environment.
