Calculating the wear resistance of metals in frictional pairs 4. Determining the frictional coefficient and pressure at abrasive contact

On the basis of experimental data, the pressure at the actual contact spot of a metal plate sliding over soil is determined. The pressure may significantly exceed the hardness of the plate. Equations are derived for calculating the effective frictional coefficient at abrasive contact.
