Optimization of friction and electrical resistance performance in graphite-copper electrical contacts using Taguchi-based grey relational analysis [PDF]

open access: yesFME Transactions
This study aims to investigate how the load, the intensity, and the polarity of electric current influence the frictional behavior and electrical resistance between a graphite pin loaded against a rotating copper disc.

On the effect of variable coefficient of friction on the horizontal resistance of the stamp

open access: yesEcological Bulletin of Research Centers of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation, 2018
Article deal with the contact problems on the surface interaction of rigid stamps with a deformed layered provided that the variable friction coefficients arise in the contact zone as a function of the coordinate under the horizontal motion of stamps. The cause of the variable friction coefficients arising may be surface phenomena induced by a complex ...

Calculation model for ventilation friction resistance coefficient by surrounding rock roughness distribution characteristics of mine tunnel [PDF]

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2022
AbstractReal-time mine ventilation network solution is the core way to realize the actual intelligent ventilation, and ventilation friction resistance coefficient is a significant parameter of network solution. With the help of fractal theory to characterize the three-dimensional roughness characteristics of tunnel surrounding rock.

METHOD OF THE DRIVE POWER DETERMINATION OF THE MECHANISMS OF THE BRIDGE CRANE MOVEMENT CONSIDERING THE ROLLING FRICTION

open access: yesNauka ta progres transportu, 2015
Purpose. The value of drive resistance to its movement is the main parameter at calculating the drive power of bridge crane. The value of the wheel rolling friction on the rails is one of the important parts of the resistance to movement. It is necessary

Analysis of Static Characteristic of Hydrodynamic Bearing with Different Surface Roughnesses

open access: yesJixie chuandong, 2020
When the working surface roughness of hydrodynamic sliding bearing reaches the same magnitude (micron) as the oil film thickness, the influence of surface roughness on the characteristic parameters of bearing cannot be ignored.

Correlation between roughness, film thickness, and friction coefficient with pitting wear resistance of spur gears

open access: yesThe International Journal of Advanced Manufacturing Technology, 2023
Abstract The present investigation aims correlate the roughness, film thickness and friction coefficient with pitting wear resistance along the rolling-sliding contact fatigue of forged and plasma nitrided gears. The hypothesis of this work is that the pitting wear resistance of forged gears can be greatly improved by pulsed plasma nitriding ...

Solid‐State Diffusion and Intermetallic Phase Formation in Roll‐Bonded Mg–Zn Composites With Kirigami‐Patterned Inlay

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Mg–Zn composites with a thickness of 0.21 mm were fabricated using roll bonding of a kirigami‐patterned Mg alloy inlay within a Zn matrix. Thermal activation following this process led to the formation of tailored intermetallic structures, which provided the composite with enhanced flexural strength.
