Coercive force and stability of SmCo5 and GdCo5

Abstract At low temperatures the compounds GdCo5 and SmCo5 decompose into the corresponding phases R2Co7 and R2Co17. This transformation is connected with the dependence of the coercive force of powder compacts on sintering temperature.

Abstract The influence of both heat treatment in various atmospheres and electrotechnical coatings on the coercive torce and its long time stability for amorphous Fe 80.5 B 12 Si 6.5 C 1 alloys was studied. A number of factors, predominantly chemical processes, acting at the heat treatment and the coating deposition, are discussed.
