Distributed Formation Control for Heterogeneous Robot Systems Based on Competitive Mechanism

open access: yesCAAI Transactions on Intelligence Technology, Volume 11, Issue 1, Page 190-204, February 2026.
ABSTRACT This paper presents an adaptive formation control method for a heterogeneous robot swarm, utilising a multilevel formation task tree to model various types of formation tasks and a single‐state distributed k‐winner‐take‐all (S‐DKWTA) algorithm to address the MRTA problem.

The Spinning Manny Indexed Overlay System for VMAT total body irradiation

open access: yesJournal of Applied Clinical Medical Physics, Volume 27, Issue 1, January 2026.
Abstract Purpose While modern intensity‐modulated techniques for total body irradiation (TBI) offer superior organ sparing and improved dose coverage compared to conventional TBI, their complexity has limited widespread adoption. Specifically, when treating individuals with Volumetric Modulated Arc Therapy (VMAT‐TBI), a transition between the head ...

Cell Shuttling in Multifunctional Microsized Needles

open access: yesSmall Structures, Volume 7, Issue 1, January 2026.
We report the bottom‐up synthesis of microsized needles with high volume to area ratio where cells attach preferentially, being explored as a platform for cell delivery. Microsized platforms are crucial for injectable cell delivery systems acting as cell carriers to improve the delivery and retention efficacy at the injury site.

Reduction of Cogging Torque in Permanent Magnet Flux-Switching Machines

open access: yesJournal of Electromagnetic Analysis and Applications, 2009
Permanent magnet flux-switching machine (PMFSM) is a relatively new structure. Available literatures mainly focused on its general design procedure and performance analysis. In this paper, Finite Element Method (FEM) is taken to ana-lyze various design techniques to reduce the cogging torque in a prototype 12/10-pole PMFSM.

Magnetic Field Analysis of Multi‐Segment Modulated Pole Motors Based on the Air Gap Domain Multi‐Harmonic Method

open access: yesIET Electric Power Applications, Volume 20, Issue 1, January/December 2026.
A subdomain analytical model for multi‐harmonic air‐gap subdomains is proposed to predict motor magnetic fields containing complex harmonic components. Theoretical analysis demonstrates that this model effectively reduces the matrix dimension during analytical computation, resulting in lower computational time costs for the same harmonic order while ...

Force Analysis and Torque Production of the Doubly Salient Parallel Path Magnetic Machine

open access: yesIET Electric Power Applications, Volume 20, Issue 1, January/December 2026.
This paper presents an in‐depth mathematical analysis of torque and force production mechanisms in the Doubly Salient Parallel Path Magnetic Motor (DS‐PPMM). Electromagnetic force distribution, torque ripple characteristics and the contributions of magnetic salience are analysed through analytical modelling and verified by finite element analysis.

Suppression of DC Winding Current Harmonics in Wound‐Field Machines Under PWM Excitation by Using Active Voltage Injection and LC Low‐Pass Filters

open access: yesIET Electric Power Applications, Volume 20, Issue 1, January/December 2026.
In this paper, the LC low‐pass filter is designed and connected in parallel with the DC winding of the MFMWF machine to suppress the high‐frequency sideband harmonics in the DC winding current for the first time. The suppression effect is validated by experiments.
