Immunosuppressive Formulations for Immunological Defense against Traumatic Brain Injury

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
A novel subcutaneous formulation combining alpha‐ketoglutarate, glycolysis inhibitor PFK15, and a myelin peptide reduces inflammation in a mouse TBI model. This formulation promotes regulatory immune cells, enhances autophagy, and improves motor function, suggesting its potential as a prophylactic immunosuppressive therapy to mitigate TBI‐induced ...

CogNarr Ecosystem: Facilitating Group Cognition at Scale [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
Human groups of all sizes and kinds engage in deliberation, problem solving, strategizing, decision making, and more generally, cognition. Some groups are large, and that setting presents unique challenges. The small-group setting often involves face-to-face dialogue, but group cognition in the large-group setting typically requires some form of online

Biomimetic Dynamics of Nanoscale Groove and Ridge Topography for Stem Cell Regulation

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Dynamic nanoscale groove‐ridge structures are engineered by flexibly conjugating RGD‐magnetic nanoparticles to nanogroove templates with variable groove widths at the molecular scale. Magnetic control enables cyclic switching between nanoscale groove and ridge states that modulates ligand accessibility of cellular integrins.

Challenges and Opportunities of Upconversion Nanoparticles for Emerging NIR Optoelectronic Devices

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
The special photo‐responsiveness of upconversion nanoparticles has opened up a new path for the advancement of near‐infrared (NIR)‐responsive optoelectronics. However, challenges such as low energy‐conversion efficiency and high nonradiative losses still persist.

Cortical specialisation to social stimuli from the first days to the second year of life: A rural Gambian cohort

open access: yesDevelopmental Cognitive Neuroscience, 2017
Brain and nervous system development in human infants during the first 1000 days (conception to two years of age) is critical, and compromised development during this time (such as from under nutrition or poverty) can have life-long effects on physical ...
