Wideband Spectrum Sensing in Cognitive Radio Networks

open access: yes, 2008
Spectrum sensing is an essential enabling functionality for cognitive radio networks to detect spectrum holes and opportunistically use the under-utilized frequency bands without causing harmful interference to legacy networks.

Energy- and Cognitive-Radio-Aware Routing in Cognitive Radio Sensor Networks

open access: yesInternational Journal of Distributed Sensor Networks, 2012
Cognitive radio sensor networks (CRSNs) are the next generation wireless sensor networks (WSNs) that mitigate overcrowded unlicensed spectrum bands by opportunistically using temporally unoccupied unlicensed and licensed spectrum bands. In this paper, we

Adaptive Modulation in Multi-user Cognitive Radio Networks over Fading Channels

open access: yes, 2013
In this paper, the performance of adaptive modulation in multi-user cognitive radio networks over fading channels is analyzed. Multi-user diversity is considered for opportunistic user selection among multiple secondary users.

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

DCEEMR: A Delay-Constrained Energy Efficient Multicast Routing Algorithm in Cognitive Radio Ad Hoc Networks

open access: yesInternational Journal of Distributed Sensor Networks, 2014
We discuss the delay-constrained energy efficient multicast routing problem in cognitive radio ad hoc networks. A cognitive radio ad hoc network is a wireless multihop network established by secondary users on varying available spectrum bands.

Optimizing cooperative cognitive radio networks with opportunistic access [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Optimal resource allocation for cooperative cognitive radio networks with opportunistic access to the licensed spectrum is studied. Resource allocation is based on minimizing the symbol error rate at the receiver.

Solution‐Processed Two‐Dimensional Indium Oxide on Sodium‐Embedded Alumina for Reconfigurable Optoelectronic Synaptic Transistors

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Wafer‐scale two‐dimensioanl In2Se3 oxidized into InOx on sodium‐embedded beta‐alumina enables multifunctional reconfigurable electronics. Sodium ions accumulate within distinct spatial distribution under drain‐controlle and gate‐controlled operation. Drain‐control operation gives controllability of ultraviolet‐driven optoelectronic synaptic conductance

Monopoly-Market-Based Cooperation in Cognitive Radio Networks

open access: yesJournal of Communications Software and Systems, 2020
In a cognitive radio network (CRN), the primary users (PUs) do not operate their spectra, full time. Thus, they can sell them to the secondary users (SUs), for a second use, during the free time slots.
