Analysis of Biomolecular Changes in HeLa Cervical Cancer Cell Line Induced by Interaction with [Pd(dach)Cl2]

open access: yesInorganics
Transition metal complexes have been used in medicine for several decades, but their intracellular effects are not yet fully elucidated. Therefore, in this study, we investigate biomolecular changes induced by a palladium(II) complex in cervical ...

Spatial distributions of European clearwing moths (Lepidoptera: Sesiidae)

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Entomology, 2011
Although the sizes of the geographical ranges of plant and animal species are of major interest to macroecologists, the spatial distributions and environmental correlates of only a small group of animals and plants are well studied.

A New Type of Shape-Invariant Beams with Structured Coherence: Laguerre-Christoffel-Darboux Beams

open access: yesPhotonics, 2021
A new class of sources presenting structured coherence properties is introduced and analyzed. They are obtained as the incoherent superposition of coherent Laguerre-Gaussian modes with suitable coefficients.

Keratin 19 as a prognostic marker and contributing factor of metastasis and chemoresistance in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.

Mapping Canopy Height and Growing Stock Volume Using Airborne Lidar, ALOS PALSAR and Landsat ETM+

open access: yesRemote Sensing, 2012
We have investigated for forest plantations in Chile the stand-level retrieval of canopy height (CH) and growing stock volume (GSV) using Airborne Laser Scanner (ALS), ALOS PALSAR and Landsat.

The Quantum Coherence Induced by Geometric Curvature of Gauge Field in Non-equilibrium Quantum Dynamics

open access: yesFrontiers in Physics, 2020
The study of non-equilibrium quantum dynamics has recently received attention. However, the nature and effects of non-equilibrium, such as detailed-balance breaking and the relationship to the underlying intrinsic geometry, is still unclear.

Rational Degree of Belief Ceases to Be Additive When the Dutch Book Argument Is Transported to a New Environment

open access: yesMathematics, 2022
The strength of a person’s beliefs can be measured by the buying and selling prices they offer on contingent promissory notes. Consider a promissory note contingent on a proposition; it pays off one unit of money if the proposition is true and nothing ...

Finding novel vulnerabilities of hypomorphic BRCA1 alleles

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Synthetic lethality screens performed to identify novel vulnerabilities often model complete gene loss, thereby overlooking patient‐derived hypomorphic mutations. In this study, we have performed genome‐wide CRISPR screens on BRCA1 hypomorphic mutations, showing BRCA1I26A behaves like wild‐type, while BRCA1R1699Q mimics deficiency. Furthermore, we have

Prediction of Protein Targets in Ovarian Cancer Using a Ru-Complex and Carbon Dot Drug Delivery Therapeutic Nanosystems: A Bioinformatics and µ-FTIR Spectroscopy Approach

open access: yesPharmaceutics
We predicted the protein therapeutic targets specific to a Ru-based potential drug and its combination with pristine and N-doped carbon dot drug delivery systems, denoted as RuCN/CDs and RuCN/N-CDs.

MITF maintains genome stability in nonmelanocyte lineages

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
MITF is essential for melanocyte survival and acts as an oncogene in 10%–20% of melanomas. We show that MITF depletion causes genome instability in nonmelanocytic cells, leading to LATS2‐mediated P53 activation, cell cycle arrest, and apoptosis. This study highlights the role of MITF as a genome maintenance factor beyond the melanocyte lineage. Created
