Directional Flow of Confined Polaritons in CrSBr

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
CrSBr, a layered magnetic semiconductor, naturally channels self‐hybridized excitonpolaritons into highly directional flow. Its intrinsic optical anisotropy, high refractive index, and strong lightmatter coupling enable long‐range guided modes along the a‐axis, with propagation lengths set by their excitonphoton admixture.

Tough, Ductile, and Strong Hard‐Soft Cementitious Composite Enabled by Multi‐Material Additive Manufacturing

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Drawing inspiration from the layered hard‐soft architecture found in sea sponges, this work establishes a new framework for architected cementitious composites (ACC) through multi‐material additive manufacturing (MMAM) process. The integration of mortar and elastomer phases into layered architectures enables synergistic toughening mechanisms, including

High power pulsed ytterbium doped fibre lasers and their applications

open access: yes, 2011
The aim of my project is to develop pulsed Ytterbium (Yb) doped fibre master oscillator power amplifier (MOPA) systems seeded by semiconductor lasers. I was principally focused on two specific projects aligned to sponsored programs of research within the

High Charge Carrier Mobility in Non‐Conjugated 3D Covalent Organic Frameworks

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A non‐conjugated 3D COF constructed via boronate ester linkages from tetraphenylene and pyrene‐based monomers is reported, which exhibits a high charge carrier mobility of 14 ± 1 cm2 V−1 s−1. ABSTRACT π‐Conjugation, π–π stacking, and long‐range order play a central role in determining charge transport efficiency in organic materials.

Thermal‐Driven Diode Polarity Switching From Competing Helical Superconducting States in WTe2/α‐Fe2O3 Heterostructures

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A Nb‐proximitized Josephson junction based on a WTe2/α‐Fe2O3 heterostructure exhibits a robust superconducting diode effect with programmable polarity. The diode direction can be trained by magnetic fields and switched by temperature cycling, revealing tunable finite‐momentum pairing states and competing superconducting states in symmetry‐broken ...

Toward a storage ring coherent light source based on an angular dispersion-induced microbunching scheme

open access: yesJournal of Synchrotron Radiation
The combination of reversible angular dispersion-induced microbunching (ADM) and the rapid damping storage ring provides a storage-ring-based light source with the capability to produce longitudinal coherent radiation with a high repetition rate.

Multi-segment coherent beam combining [PDF]

open access: yes, 1994
Scaling laser systems to large sizes for power beaming and other applications can sometimes be simplified by combing a number of smaller lasers. However, to fully utilize this scaling, coherent beam combination is necessary.

Coherent combination of slab-coupled optical waveguide lasers

open access: yes, 2009
A long-standing challenge for semiconductor lasers is scaling the optical power and brightness of many diode lasers by coherent beam combination. Because single-mode semiconductor lasers have limited power available from a single element, there is a ...

Resistance to Overdoping Allows Over 2000 S cm−1 Conductivity in P(g3BTTT) With Anion‐Exchange Doping

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Anion‐exchange doping of conjugated polymers is an effective way to achieve high conductivities. Here, we report over 2000 S cm−1 electrical conductivity for doped P(g3BTTT). In addition, we show that P(g3BTTT) sustains exceptionally high doping levels without any drop in the charge mobility.

Optimisation of wavelength modulated Raman spectroscopy : towards high throughput cell screening

open access: yes, 2013
In the field of biomedicine, Raman spectroscopy is a powerful technique to discriminate between normal and cancerous cells. However the strong background signal from the sample and the instrumentation affects the efficiency of this discrimination ...
