AI–Guided 4D Printing of Carnivorous Plants–Inspired Microneedles for Accelerated Wound Healing

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This work presents an artificial intelligence (AI)‐guided 4D‐printed microneedle platform inspired by carnivorous plants for wound healing. A thermo‐responsive shape memory polymer enables body temperature–triggered self‐coiling for autonomous wound closure.

Research on the compact design of bunching cavities for high modulation depth of intense-current relativistic electron beams

open access: yesAIP Advances
In order to overcome the bottleneck of improving the bunching depth of intense-current electron beams in klystron, this study proposes a design scheme of high bunching depth based on the staggered distribution of resonant cavity frequencies.

High-power fibre lasers for beam combination

open access: yes, 2006
Fiber lasers have caught the imagination for applications requiring beam combination up to a 100kW or more. Their near-perfect beam quality, stability and versatility, coupled with the low cost of the gain medium, make them ideal candidates for ...

Resonant Domain Wall Dynamics in a Three‐Dimensional Magnetic Nano Double Helix

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
3D magnetic nanostructures promise exciting possibilities for magnetization dynamics. However, experimental realizations remain scarce. In nanoprinted cobalt double helices, time‐resolved X‐ray microscopy reveals harmonic domain wall dynamics. Simulations identify the mode and additional higher‐frequency resonances, revealing a rich dynamic landscape ...

Unveiling Exsolution‐Induced Giant Electronic and Magnetic Property Changes in Non‐Stoichiometric Titanate Perovskite Thin Films

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A giant insulator to metal transition and emergent superparamagnetism are revealed by nanoparticle exsolution in non‐stoichiometric titanate perovskite thin films. By combining transport, synchrotron spectroscopy, and first‐principles calculations, this work reveals how defect reconfiguration and lattice reconstruction fundamentally reshape electronic ...

Theory of electronically phased coherent beam combination without a reference beam

open access: yesOptics Express, 2006
The first theory for two novel coherent beam combination architectures that are the first electronic beam combination architectures that completely eliminate the need for a separate reference beam are presented. Detailed theoretical models are developed and presented for the first time.

Stimulated Brillouin scattering, phase noise, and dynamical evolution in a passive fiber laser coherent beam combination

open access: yes, 2014
A theoretical model is proposed to study a passive fiber laser coherent beam combination (CBC) with an all-optical ring-cavity feedback loop. The dynamic evolution of a frequency filter is carefully studied and is shown to be sensitive to stimulated ...

Designable van der Waals Crystal for Artificial Neuronal Cell Mimicking

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Designable van der Waals crystal has been demonstrated for device‐scale neuronal cell mimicking. The structural similarity between ion‐channel in biological membranes and layered vdW lattices is realized with nano‐crystallization via Ar + H2S plasma sulfurization.

Experiments and Perturbative Analysis of Dammann-Grating-Based Aperture Filling in a Passive Coherent Beam Combination

open access: yes, 2014
A Dammann-grating-based aperture filling technology is demonstrated in a passive coherent beam combination fiber amplifier array, which is phase- locked using an all-optical feedback loop. The maximum output power is 206 W.
