Versatile Control of Spectral Emissivity in Mid‐Infrared Metasurfaces via Silicon Microstructuring

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
A family of metasurfaces is obtained very simply, solely through the structuration of a single‐crystal silicon surface, without any other material involved. Based on the infrared plasmonic behavior of highly doped silicon, further control of surface topography by micro‐ and nano‐structuration is found to enable an avenue of options toward tailoring its

Massive MIMO for Ultra-reliable Communications with Constellations for Dual Coherent-noncoherent Detection

open access: yes, 2018
The stringent requirements of ultra-reliable low-latency communications (URLLC) require rethinking of the physical layer transmission techniques. Massive antenna arrays are seen as an enabler of the emerging $5^\text{th}$ generation systems, due to ...

Long time dynamics and coherent states in nonlinear wave equations

open access: yes, 2016
We discuss recent progress in finding all coherent states supported by nonlinear wave equations, their stability and the long time behavior of nearby solutions.Comment: bases on the authors presentation at 2015 AMMCS-CAIMS Congress, to appear in Fields

Terahertz Volume Plasmon‐Polariton Modulation in All‐Dielectric Hyperbolic Metamaterials

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
THz volume plasmon‐polariton (VPP) propagation through plasmon‐based hyperbolic metamaterials, made of alternating layers of doped and undoped III‐V semiconductors. Abstract The development of plasmonics and related applications in the terahertz range faces limitations due to the intrinsic high electron density of the standard metals.

Coexistence of continuous variable QKD with intense DWDM classical channels

open access: yesNew Journal of Physics, 2015
We demonstrate experimentally the feasibility of continuous variable quantum key distribution (CV-QKD) in dense-wavelength-division multiplexing networks (DWDM), where QKD will typically have to coexist with several co-propagating (forward or backward) C-

Superpositions of the dual family of nonlinear coherent states and their non-classical properties

open access: yes, 2010
Nonlinear coherent states (CSs) and their {\it dual families} were introduced recently. In this paper we want to obtain their superposition and investigate their non-classical properties such as antibunching effect, quadrature squeezing and amplitude ...

Enhancing Triplet Excitons Lifetime Through Controlled Intermolecular Interactions

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
Singlet fission (SF) is investigated in pentacene embedded in a surface‐anchored metal–organic framework, enabling a molecular arrangement inaccessible in pure organic crystals. This architecture changes the singlet fission dynamics significantly and enhances the triplet lifetime by almost four orders of magnitude.

A DSP-free carrier phase recovery system using 16-offset-QAM laser forwarded links for 400 Gb/s and beyond

open access: yesFrontiers in Communications and Networks
Optical interconnects are becoming a major bottleneck in scaling up future GPU racks and network switches within data centers. Although 200 Gb/s optical transceivers using PAM-4 modulation have been demonstrated, achieving higher data rates and energy ...

Ultrabroadband Excitation of Hot Carriers in Plasmonic Nanorods Revealed by Two‐Dimensional Electronic Spectroscopy

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
This work dissects the ultrafast response of polydisperse plasmonic nanorods using two‐dimensional electronic spectroscopy, uniquely combining temporal and spectral resolution. Our ultrabroadband pulses cover both transverse and longitudinal nanorods’ resonances, revealing sub‐200‐fs dynamics and distinct broadening mechanisms.

Red‐to‐Blue Upconversion Nanoparticles Catalyze Aqueous Radical Polymerization

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
Encapsulation of a red‐to‐blue upconversion pair into polymer nanoparticles gives water‐stable heterogeneous nanocatalysts with distinguished stability. Red light irradiation of these nanocatalysts initiates aqueous polymerization of a series of acrylates with high conversion yields.
