The Globally Coherent Pattern of Autumn Monsoon Precipitation [PDF]
AbstractOver most tropical land areas, the annual peak in precipitation occurs during summer, associated with the local monsoon circulation. However, in some coastal regions in the tropics the bulk of annual precipitation occurs in autumn, after the low-level summer monsoon westerlies have abated.

Coherent precipitate formation in Tl implanted Si [PDF]
Abstract Ion scattering, ion channeling, and cross-section electron microscopy were used to investigate Si single crystals implanted with 205Tl+ (0.29−1×1016 Tl/cm2, 90 keV) and annealed with pulses (1.6 J/cm2, 15 ns) from a ruby laser. Coherent precipitates of Tl were found to form as a result of laser processing.

A Coherent Approach to Evaluating Precipitation Forecasts over Complex Terrain
Precipitation forecasts provided by high-resolution NWP models have a degree of realism that is very appealing to most users of meteorological data. However, it is a challenge to demonstrate whether or not such forecasts contain more skillful information

It is becoming a trend that many strengthening methods are applied at the same time to overcome the strength-ductility trade-off. However, the combination of precipitation strengthening and transformation-induced plasticity (TRIP) is rarely used ...

On the theory of strengthening by coherent ordered precipitates [PDF]
Abstract This paper contrasts recent discussions of the theory of strengthening by coherent precipitates. The most important difference is in the assumed condition at maximum hardness. In one treatment, the maximum hardness is reached when dislocations first begin to loop precipitates, and is hence controlled by the largest particles in the precipitate

Zener pinning through coherent precipitate: A phase-field study [PDF]
A novel phase field model has been developed to study the effect of coherent precipitate on the Zener pinning of matrix grain boundaries. The model accounts for misfit strain between precipitate and matrix as well as the elastic inhomogeneity and anisotropy between them.

TEM Study of High-Temperature Precipitation of Delta Phase in Inconel 718 Alloy [PDF]
Inconel 718 is widely used because of its ability to retain strength at up to 650◦C for long periods of time through coherent metastable γ” Ni3Nb precipitation associated with a smaller volume fraction of γ’ Ni3Al precipitates.

Precipitation response to El Niño/La Niña events in Southern South America – emphasis in regional drought occurrences [PDF]
The ENSO phenomenon is one of the key factors that influence the interannual variability of precipitation over Southern South America. The aim of this study is to identify the regional response of precipitation to El Niño/La Niña events, with emphasis
