Quantum Mixmaster as a Model of the Primordial Universe

open access: yesUniverse, 2019
The Mixmaster solution to Einstein field equations was examined by C. Misner in an effort to better understand the dynamics of the early universe. We highlight the importance of the quantum version of this model for the early universe.

Risk of Retinopathy Associated with Long‐Term Use of Hydroxychloroquine in Patients with Rheumatic Diseases: A Systematic Review and Meta‐Analysis

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective We aimed to estimate the prevalence and cumulative incidence of hydroxychloroquine retinopathy (HCQ‐R) and its risk factors among patients receiving long‐term HCQ with rheumatic diseases through a systematic review and meta‐analysis of observational studies that used spectral‐domain optical coherence tomography (SD‐OCT) for screening ...

Trusted Noise in Continuous-Variable Quantum Key Distribution: A Threat and a Defense

open access: yesEntropy, 2016
We address the role of the phase-insensitive trusted preparation and detection noise in the security of a continuous-variable quantum key distribution, considering the Gaussian protocols on the basis of coherent and squeezed states and studying them in ...

States interpolating between number and coherent states and their interaction with atomic systems

open access: yes, 2000
Using the eigenvalue definition of binomial states we construct new intermediate number-coherent states which reduce to number and coherent states in two different limits.

Biopsychosocial determinants of hand function and its trajectories over five years in patients with hand osteoarthritis

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, Accepted Article.
Objectives This study aimed to investigate hand function trajectories over 5 years in primary hand osteoarthritis. Additionally, determinants of baseline and longitudinal hand function were assessed. Methods 538 patients with both baseline and 5‐year study visits were analyzed.

Entanglement in bipartite generalized coherent states

open access: yes, 2007
Entanglement in a class of bipartite generalized coherent states is discussed. It is shown that a positive parameter can be associated with the bipartite generalized coherent states so that the states with equal value for the parameter are of equal ...

Artificial Intelligence in Systemic Sclerosis: Clinical applications, challenges, and future directions

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, Accepted Article.
Systemic sclerosis (SSc) is a rare autoimmune disease defined by immune dysregulation, vasculopathy, and progressive fibrosis of the skin and internal organs. Despite advances in care, major complications such as interstitial lung disease (ILD) and myocardial involvement remain the leading causes of morbidity and mortality.

Statistical Properties of Superpositions of Coherent Phase States with Opposite Arguments

open access: yesEntropy
We calculate the second-order moments, the Robertson–Schrödinger uncertainty product, and the Mandel factor for various superpositions of coherent phase states with opposite arguments, comparing the results with similar superpositions of the usual ...

Revisiting Stability Criteria in Ball‐Milled High‐Entropy Alloys: Do Hume–Rothery and Thermodynamic Rules Equally Apply?

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, Volume 27, Issue 6, March 2025.
The stability criteria affecting the formation of high‐entropy alloys, particularly focusing in supersaturated solid solutions produced by mechanical alloying, are analyzed. Criteria based on Hume–Rothery rules are distinguished from those derived from thermodynamic relations. The formers are generally applicable to mechanically alloyed samples.
